I was looking at the white car just a little ways in front of the truck. For whatever reason, they were straddling the fog line on the right. Seems to me there was no brake check, just something happened in front of them that they were being cautious about. Maybe if they kept some distance back, they would not be caught out like that.

I drive this highway every day. It's the merritt parkway( speed limit is 55mph) & this is just 1 of the reasons why there are so many bad accidents on this road. Plus, there are always deer and other wildlife crossing because of the road being in the middle of a wooded area. The camera guy put so many ppls lives at risk & was dumb enough to post the video of him doing it. His license should definitely be gone.

#7. Unsure whether the truck was speeding or not but the lane markings indicate that overtaking is allowed. There was more than enough room in front of you for him to slot it in before you sped up. Also, according to Ala. Code § 32-5A-80, it is unlawful to accelerate while being overtaken. There was a guy on the left lane, the PASSING LANE on the highway that was going 20 under the speed limit. So I decided to pass him by going to the right lane and as I was doing it this guy speeds up alongside me. It takes about a second for a driver to realize that something is happening, and another second for them to decide what action to take in response to what is seen. That's 1-2 seconds of time wasted. Ever see somebody experience "sudden stop syndrome?" Try checking out the Fort Worth I-35W icy road pile-up from a couple of years ago for an example of this.
