That's what engines sound like. It's from individual throttle bodies & pretty open intakes. All N/A Touring/Cally cars have that edge too; you can also hear it in the Ferrari F355 at the start of the video. From the front you're haering the engine, chewing air and setting it on fire, normally people just hear the exhaust & think that's 'engine note'.

Yep intake/induction sound, all naturally aspirated cars should be able to make those sounds, as long as you have any intake that does not have too much sound deadening
