Ernst Schuster, German hobby driver. I worked on his 936C back in 1986 when it finished in 6th place at Le Mans. Complete gentleman, he must be in his early eighties now. Nice to see he’s still driving.

What a fabulous race car. Speed, handling, braking all combine for a beautifully balanced racing car. It's blinding fast, yet so well balanced it rips through the chicanes like they're not even there. No wonder this car was so successful in competition for so long.

Yeah, but normally it's speed-limited to hell, you can go no faster than 80 kph but for a few hundred meters. The curvy section back to the timig tower is the worst at 60 kph... Obeying the speed limit a lap takes about 12+ minutes, depending on traffic lights, other cars etc. But beautiful and exciting to drive nonetheless, just did some 'laps' earlier today :D

bloody beautiful my Father had a genuine Porsche workshop from 1968 to 1973 and we had the privilege of having a 908 for the motor show in 1969 we dropped the engine and gearbox out as a unit and had the car set up so people could see in it created a lot of interest and i had the what i thought at that time was fun i got to sit in the car and steer it when it was getting pushed in place of work and steering it hey not much but more than some, fond memories working in the family business like going for my license in a 1953 356a 1300super the only modification done to this car was a disc brake front beautiful motor car to drive it did a genuine 106mph, pity it ever got sold.

@Isaac Nesbitt "Who knows" ? It's not a walk in the park, I do the math: The 908-3 made 360 hp - say averaging ~110 Kw (150 hp) for 6 hours race time, you would need a 650,000 Watt-hour battery. Good luck getting that under 1,200 lbs in the next millennium.

This is amazing! Beautiful cars, weather, open road and a bunch of people celebrating it. Something like this would never happen where I live. They would definitely close one of the two major bridges in the heart of the city during rush hour traffic for a stupid bicycle unity parade but close off some roads on the outskirts of town to celebrate historic race cars?? never ever..!! Back in the 70s, 80s early 90s maybe.. This goes for most of America today. They'll close off some roads for a race if celebrities are involved but if the cars are the celebrity nobody cares.
