James Lew is so underrated. He was cast in almost every martial arts-based movies in the 80s and 90s and remains somewhat unknown in the stunt world. I remember an interview with him a while back where he was humble but stern. Such a nice guy but truly significant in those times.

Unfortunately, other than Kyokushin, there has been a long term move away from full contact traditional martial arts tournaments to more tappy-tappy points fighting. Full contact may have been more harsh on the body but it taught you more of who you are and could be.

My brother & I grew up watching Best of The Best along with The Karate Kid Trilogy, Bloodsport, Lone Wolf McQuaid, Out for Justice, No Retreat No Surrender, Revenge of The Ninja, Fist of The North Star anime film, Mortal Kombat 1 & Bruce Lee movies. The '80s & '90s were such great eras for Martial Arts movie fans. Anyone here happen to know what fighting style Eric Roberts' character Alex Grady uses in Best of The Best? In every one of his fight scenes, he always uses the same unique stance at the start of each round he competes in. I don't think its Karate nor Tae Kwon Do, don't think its Kung-Fu either.
