Nice to see class 68s on every type of rake , but honestly is a waste of power to allocate them on much lighter passengers services when less powerful traction could handle the same for much less. Meanwhile i understand the class 57s are not as new as they were 2 decades or so ago to keep same availability standards, other wise would be a very appropriate option even to replace powerful and higher loading gauge class 67s though. Is no point on reactivate or buy passenger cars sets when is no adequate diesel traction for it. Thank you for sharing the video.

I'm surprised there hasn't be a proposal to fit a quieter exhaust system on the 68s. For a 21st century diesel locomotive they are very loud. And I know the noise complaints are why a lot of them were taken out of passenger service and probably contributed to the early retirement of the TPE Nova 3s. The Cat C175 can be quieter, the EMD F125 in the US uses the 20 cylinder version of this same engine tuned at 4700hp and is much quieter, despite only having come out about 3 years after the 68s (2013 vs 2010)
