As MANY have pointed out: The entire "Belarian" sub-plot has no connection to the actual movie, this is likely because these sections were filmed for part of a (you guessed it) different movie entirely. They never interact with any of the main characters besides Santa Claus, and that scene is particularly suspect as he is wearing an entirely different costume for it than anywhere else in the movie. The Belarians never had anything to do with anything and the scenes they shot with them were probably thrown in by the editor(s) in order to lengthen a running time that was clearly too short for a full-length film. Also they really did steal footage from Battlestar Galactica and were somehow not sued to my knowledge. The film is such a mess of editing that its a wonder it even made it to theatres.

Lets all mourn for Anthony Sabato Jr.'s acting career as he is now blacklisted from Hollywood for daring to speak his mind. I mean, 'cuz he's definitely a quality actor, and everyone should be begging to feature him in their next project.

So wait, what does a bunch of Fank robbers robbing the Fakuza have to do with High Voltage? There was nothing electrical about that movie.
@Mallerd8 жыл бұрын
High voltage was a pretty ok film for it to be on best of the worst. I feel like the people who made it loved action movies and where very dedicaded to the making of their own.

Just letting everyone know... the art on the Death Spa Blu-Ray is the same same cover art that was on the original VHS release and probably the one-sheet if there was one. Love that artwork. Love that ridiculous movie.

16:47 - I was also amazed at the sound of the guns in this movie - they are badly distorted and stupidly loud, but that makes them work - just like it made dubstep work.

I think the loophole for the "Star Wars" special effects claim on the Space Mutiny VHS box is because the miniature effects supervisor from Battlestar Galactica also worked on A New Hope

The gunshot sounds in High Voltage are so distractingly heavy. Like, it sounds like every single gun is a magnum no matter what.
@bar73814 жыл бұрын
i find it distracting in a good way
@professorravenwood82752 жыл бұрын
That's because, as Jay so astutely observed, the sound effects for the gunfire sound like they were taken directly from the Indiana Jones movies. To be specific, to my ears they sound like they might be the exact gunshot sounds lifted from the brawl at Marion's Tavern in Nepal! The punches also sound "borrowed" from Raiders! They do sound larger than life, but also help showcase why Ben Burtt is The Man!!
