At some point in the late 70s/early 80s my grandfather bought an electric organ and taught himself how to play, eventually becoming competent enough to perform all the standard carols on Christmas. While I don't ever recall any Dennis VHS tapes, my grandfather did have a couple of books with Dennis on the cover. They were either sheet music or maybe a "Teach Yourself the Organ" type of thing... don't really recall precise details, been like 35 years... and grandpa, the organ and those books are long gone. That said, I only came back to this comment section to find a Dennis comment to reply to... for a good few days after this video first released I was racking my brain trying to remember why he looked so familiar. For awhile I thought it was because he looked like former St.Louis Cardinals catcher Darrell Porter, who I remember from childhood baseball cards... But then just about 20 minutes ago it randomly came to me while I was sitting on the throne... HE WAS FROM GRANDPA'S MUSIC BOOKS!!!! ...and just wanted to share.

My theory: "Billy B" is a teacher and makes every new class produce a song as a group project; they choose genre, subject matter, and also choose a dance... it would explain the change in seasons and in ages of his students; he started off teaching one grade but then later in his career went to teaching another grade .... it's a compilation of school projects that took 10 years to make and that's why he aged so much

I can't say this story is true, but I believe it to be true. In the mid 90s, I was in a mall In Oklahoma, that had a Wurlitzer Organ store. There was a guy playing an organ right outside the store. I'm pretty sure it was Dennis. It's the hair, nobody wears their hair like that anymore, and it sticks out when I see it. I watched him for a minute then went on. I'm pretty sure I saw Dennis live in concert.

Incredibly, Dennis is still going and apparently has been going since the 50's. He has a website where his (no doubt, self-written) biography compares his keyboard talents to Fred Astaire's dancing which is weird because, well, I'd at least heard of Fred Astaire. Ignoring his many accomplishments, such as being named keyboard entertainer of the year twice-in-a-row by 'Keyboard world magazine' (an apparently short-lived magazine not to be confused with the much more popular contemporary music magazine 'Keyboard') he has also released a Joke book. That's probably the funniest thing about it.
