The company doesn’t distribute this product to retail stores to sell; it’s only available for download from their website, FOR FREE.”

Nah because as someone who DOES work at a Wendy's, we have had a surge of, I should say Ignorant People, in the past 3 weeks asking for Onion Rings. Then, whenever we kindly tell the customer(s) in question, they're like "Well, I want Onion Rings". After the second time of saying "We do not currently have that item on our menu", they say "HMPH. I am gonna take MY MONEY elsewhere". We had another customer yell after one of these events: "Don't forget to take your stupidity with you". Everyone in the kitchen laughed their ass off.

Having lost my wife, I can understand the "can you bake this recipe for me?" request. Having something that reminds you of good times with your partner helps a lot! It's pretty difficult to do some things that the partner used to, and if you don't don't have confidence that you'll get it anywhere near right then asking a professional you trust to do it is the next best thing. I really hope the cake turned out well and brought back lots of happy memories!

2:42 I experienced this. It turns out that in France some pastries can have different names from one bakery to another. There is one that in my usual bakery is called "cravate" but in another in my city "pain suisse". I spent several minutes explaining what it was until it clicked in the baker's brain and she understood what it was. It was very embarrassing because people were waiting behind me. She was very kind and patient. Since I was embarrassed, I didn't explain well.

I thought the request for what I have to assume are "non regional" bakery items like a cookie sandwich was a reasonable question as long as they were polite. The consumer isn't the professional and can't be expected to know how purest your gonna be in your bakery because they are not a mind reader. Some bakeries might not have the room to display every item and all those items that one person said would fall under what I would expect to find in a bakery so I guess I just don't understand why you think that's a weird/dumb question.
