I don’t think you realize exactly how much of my entire point of KZbin right now is just watching your videos and answering questions. It really means a lot to so many practitioners.❤

Still love Bob the Necromancer 😂 Though I do have a couple questions for anyone willing to help me out- (sorry it's pretty long, I don't really know how to put my thoughts to words a lot of the time) (Also Google doesn't really like helping me with the questions, the first I can only find super vague info on and the second I have found ✨nothing✨) The first: I've never heard of war water before and would like to know what exactly it is or is supposed to do (especially since I'm a closet witch and so resort to working with water, crystals, and sometimes sigils as they don't really look too obvious) The second I don't know how to word, but it's basically about setting your intentions and 'telling the object what to do'. Do you actually talk to them? Or just think about the intention and hold them in your hand? Or like write it down and put the object on the paper/device for a bit? And even then, is there a certain way you're supposed to be talking to them? I get it doesn't have to be rhymes and such, but I don't want to look like I'm overdoing it by being sickeningly polite, but at the same time I don't want to appear rude speaking how I normally do and have been resorting to "hey, um, amethyst and flourite, could you two like... Help me with school and studying, please and thank you, I'll write down the specifics for you and let you process it for a bit okay?" Maybe its just because I'm still new to this (been studying and barely practicing for about 5 months I think) but it just feels strange and I'm worried I might not be doing it right-

Never heard of war water a day in my life, and for intentions I just kinda… say what they’re supposed to do out loud while holding them. Example, if it’s a crystal for protection I’ll just say protection over and over again. Hope this helps!

Okay looked up war water and got this: “War Water is a particularly powerful bit of magic stemming from American witchcraft traditions in the South. Contrary to popular belief, war water is not rooted in Hoodoo but in European-influenced folk magic practices. Due to this, debates about which is the most “authentic” recipe for war water are unproductive. Folk magic practices in the early parts of white American history were not well documented and the specifics of these practices were likely kept within close-knit family circles.” Also to answer your second question, you can do any of those, whichever feels more comfortable to you. I talk to my herbs and crystals very basically, no frills. “Amethyst, I need you to ----- please” etc. There’s no need to be super formal or rhyme it if you don’t want, especially because you’re going to be directing each ingredient and there may be quite a few depending. Hope this helps, good luck in your practice.

You will probably be surprised to find out just how much of witchcraft is the saying “whatever floats your boat”. Intentions are whatever you feel comfortable with. I say mine out loud. Sometimes I make sigils. I feel like without a physical representation like speaking or writing, it’s easier for the spell to forget. But it honestly doesn’t matter.

About War Water, Ivy the Occultist has made a great video explaining her method of doing it and how she uses it, and I suggest you watch that. About the intention, especially for herbs and crystals, I follow the method suggested by Annie (GreenWithc here on KZbin), which is to hold the item you want to charge with your intention in your hands, and mentally or verbally give it the instructions, while charging it with your own energy. This way requires you to know a bit about energy manipulation, but it's quite easy, and yes, you can formulate it as "please, *insert item name here*, I need you to help me with X with your properties of Y for this kind of working". It might sound silly, but it really works! We were all beginner witches once, so be never afraid to ask 💚

I have never heard of war water. What is it?
@cottonsoda1212
@cottonsoda1212 3 ай бұрын
(According to google at least) War water is essentially water with rust and moss in it. It's made by throwing iron nails, moss or something similar and swamp water into a jar and letting it stew for at least a week. It can be used as personal protection if kept in the jar or it can be poured on someone's doorstep to curse them. I assume that the longer it stews the more powerful it gets.

@7:47 Herbs are not closed practices. Unless you've SEEN or been taught a smuding ceremony, you have no idea what to do. So, no... it's just smoke cleansing. You also shouldn't judge a persons culture by the color of their skin alone.
@riveramnell143

White sage and palo santo specifically are closed though, because they are sacred to a closed practice. But there’s tons of other herbs out there so it really doesn’t matter. I like to use cedar to smoke cleanse, personally. It smells amazing.

Yeah, just smoke cleansing is totally open to everyone, but the actual process of smudging is closed. And there are so, so many options to use that aren’t closed. Literally any other type of sage, or cedar, or lavender, or rosemary, regular old incense, there are so many options that *aren’t* closed. There’s really no need to fight for non-indigenous to be able to use them. Because there are many options that are easier to come by. Just… leave the stuff that you’ve been asked to alone. It’s that easy.
