I saw this just now and started to cry. I’ve always been overweight but active. As a nurse I was always moving and lifting things. November 2021 I was hospitalized with Covid pneumonia for a very long time. 17 days in ICU and another 5 weeks in hospital. I left the hospital on oxygen and I am still on it. I have gained so much weight and am in a health crisis. I completed pulmonary rehab recently but I’m still struggling. I’m still extremely de conditioned. I watched this and for the first time in all of this I feel HOPE. Thank you for getting it. Thank you.

I hope you are doing better. If not, I hope you will find what works for you soon. What worked for me was a dna test that confirmed which Gene's were impeding my progress. Best thing I ever did for myself after 23 years of extremely low energy and many nearly useless doctors (with all due respect for their efforts), is I found a biochemist naturopathic doctor that was savvy about the past 20 years of genetic science and also able to read my bloodwork better than my MD. Life changing. I feel 23 again. Wishing loads of breakthroughs for you too.

This is awesome. I just started clubbell exercises from the video "The next 3 exercises for deconditioned people". The kettlebell exercises from the first video are still in my rotation (KB three days a week, clubs 2 days a week), and my posture has definitely improved (I measured at almost an inch taller than than last year). But more than that, I have regained the physical abilities necessary to live an independent life. I can get up off the floor, carry groceries, climb stairs, and walk on unstable/unlevel surfaces again. And this after only 23 weeks of work. I can't wait to see where I am at 52 weeks of work. Thank you for giving people like me an accessible entry point to making the changes we know need to happen.

This is excellent. I am just getting started as a personal trainer for informal caregivers and most of them are deconditioned. It's been tricky to know how to build a program for people who need a foundation first, don't have the basics down yet, and need to build up their core to begin strength training. I'm glad you're tackling this, it is much needed!

Love this, as an individual who has been both overweight and badly injured, and in many respects deconditioned, I have been using ideas from many of your older videos, peicing them together with PT movements, tetris&nerd math ideas to make my own version. Can't wait to see how you built it out and see what ideas I can incorporate in.

this program will probably be life-changing. I’m in the process of getting approved for weight loss surgery, and part of that requires some physical therapy. your advice is helping me reimagine my physical health, and giving me hope that I’m not too sick and broken to start living again. I plan to do the program when it’s ready.

On the final few days of week 4. The program is absolutely the best, my posture is massively improved and last night I standing overhead pressed a 12kg (26lb) kettlebell 55 times on each arm. Built up over 3 weeks. Cant wait to do another round with the next weight up!

Totally agree! I’m on cycle 1 week 4. Def improved posture, overall strength including core, better functional fitness when just moving/lifting in real life. Training pushes you just enough to go beyond your baseline, but not so much you hurt & want to quit…the Goldilocks sweet spot. Consistent, efficient, no-nonsense. Bought my next size up KB & Adex WM club/arc….this is part of my lifestyle now. Thanks Mark!

I'm reasonably fit and functional, but after numerous injuries, struggle with mobility (mainly lower body in my case). The biggest challenge in my experience, is that too many programs assume mobility that many people don't have. And don't have realistic strategies to help people get there. Would love to see a program that takes people from virtually no mobility to normal range of motion. I've tried different programs, been to physical therapists, etc. They all either assume a certain, unrealistic level, or don't know what to do. A zero to normal mobility program would probably be the biggest benefit to most people

That word decondition, has become huge in my life and my family's life later. My wife works at home, sitting in front of the computer. And she said to me a little while ago that she now "feels very deconditioned". That word opened up the door of opportunity for us to start training together and has allowed me to introduce to her Kettlebell work and modified body weight movement exercises. Gkad to say, She has had progress with weight loss, strength, and immobility since that start. As a society, I believe the physical deconditioning of people has increased. So Thank you for this.

I absolutely have benefitted from the original TRAINING FOR OVERWEIGHT INDIVIDUALS. I've lost a sizeable chunk off from my body - from 200lbs to 130lbs and I largely credit yoga, a good diet & Mark/Wildman Athletica for this transformation! Regaining the flexibility and mobility I've had as a kid (I'll be 46 this September and have been practicing martial arts since 7 years old). This new or updated version of the program still offers valuable insights to supplement my current training regimen.

This is perfect timing. I had been following alot your tutorials on base KB and 1 hand club work. I had found a lot of advantages (my posture improved immensely, huge improvements in the mobility of my shoulders, gain in strength) but I simply was not loosing inches from the fat around my stomach. This flab is preventing me from advancing in both technique, and complexity, so thus not being able to gain all the advantages of the exercises.

150 kg here 🎉 you are totally right in your experiance that overweight peeps cant find nice content so easyly. Most of the time you have to leave out or change exercises, cause you can't do em. Chances of injury are higher. With gym maschienes the problem is that some positions are just not comfortable cause the maschienes in gyms don't fit that kind of body type all to well. Thats the biggest point with gyms for me. Many people there are actually nice. But your stuff as well, as turner and other indian club and mace stuff works nicely for starters...and club and kettlebell upright exercises as you and some others programm are very doable. Ive been inspired by your vids and been clubbing for 3 1/2 month now without injury ..but damn did the bands in the hand hurt the first 2 month. Then i took a week off for recovery and i am fine. Started an 2 kg club then 4 kg now am at 6kg ;)
