What I love is how real you are about this subject. No “magic bullet” or unrealistic expectations. It’s refreshing to hear someone say “it’s a 5 year plus program” and this day and age where people want results yesterday, often without putting in any work. Thanks Mark.

@@MarkWildman so if I was 20 years old, mobile and pain-free but 100lb overweight and followed your programs for a year as I lost the weight, you don't think I would achieve a solid baseline level of fitness? What would really be the difference of what I could do after one year vs five years besides heavier weights?

It's funny how the idea of needing 2 years or 5 years has been more motivating to me than "6 weeks to get shredded", "lose belly fat in just 30days!". I'm in it for the long run, bought my first kettlebells two years ago and I'm still grinding away, planning my next weights, learning new moves...I love it so much! 🤓

I want to be able to get up from the floor by myself until the day I die. Squats have been such a help for me. Videos like yours, telling me that I deserve to be an athlete and meet my goals, have been the single most effective motivation I've ever had. Everyone reading this deserves to meet their goals. Deserves to move and live without so much pain and difficulty.

64 year old male with plantar fasciitis, knee and walking problems, and therefore lob sided and taking the stairs one step at a time. I tried 5x5 weights, running, etc. I became a bit stronger but not better; still lob sided, still the same aches and pains. Started with 5 reps per set of the 3 exercises for Overweight-Deconditioned-Individuals and a 6 kg bell. 6kg only because my right shoulder hurt and I couldn't stand up straight properly. In my third week I was able to walk down the stairs like a regular person , one step one stair step down for the first time in 10 years. Plantar fasciitis seems to have gone, I lost weight and I walk straight. A huge thank you for the program that really improved my life. I am now into my second cycle with a 10 kg kettlebell.

Mark...THANK YOU!! I am truly grateful that I discovered your program and truly wish I had discovered it sooner. I am 54 years old, pretty deconditioned and am carrying around at least an extra 100lbs on my 6ft frame...9 years ago I ran a half marathon (slowly) and now I would be hard pressed to do a 3k. I took a shot at getting back to the gym a year ago and ran into the exact problem you talk about. A personal trainer that tried to have me do a bunch of exercises I was just not physically prepared to do. Nice guy but just did not get how restricted my capabilities were despite my feedback & discussions of what I was looking for...core stability & movement ability. I am now just finishing week 4 of my first cycle through the TOI program and doing the Indian clubs at the same time. Workout in the morning and clubs when I get home from work. I have been using the 6-12kg KB and a baseball bat and I really enjoy this program. I am noting improvements in how I move, get up from sitting, my posture, etc. all just using the lowest weight levels. I have even lost a few pounds in the process. As a bonus, I really enjoy the workouts, even these last cycles with 11 & 12 sets!! The daily motivational videos as well as your detailed explanations of the nerd math, why & how the exercises work is the difference. It has all helped me reset my thinking from "I can't" to "I can" with the ramping approach. I am looking forward to restarting the program with the Adex club I just ordered on Black Friday as well as ticking up the weight a little. Also splurged a little for a hydracore bag for when I have to travel. If anybody out there in a similar place in life and are considering this program, DO IT!! I splurged on the adjustable kettle bell but went down to Goodwill and picked up an old bat for $5 to get me through the first cycle. You can do this totally on the cheap like Mark states repeatedly. Follow Mark's sage advice, get moving and start getting better!!

I had gut issues that made me drop from 260 lbs to 180 lbs in 2020, lost all my muscle mass and could barely swing a 12kg for 10 reps, barely press an 8 for 5 reps and couldn’t deadlift a 20 more than 5 reps or so. I did those and added inside/outside circles with a 2kg longish hammer and shield casts. A bit over two years later I could swing a 48, snatch a 24 and press an 18, I do reps of inside circles with the 10kg, shield casts and mills with the 8kg, mace 360’s with a 10kg Glad I found your channel in 2020, you helped me out a lot.

Questions for future videos: How to best use the program to heal old injuries that were not fully rehabilitated, and which emerge after X days, weeks, or months into the program? How to handle the soreness and stiffness which will likely emerge? How to adjust the program if the subsequent soreness is more than just uncomfortable and too exhausting to recover in time for day one of the next week? How to be vigilant for the temptation to do more than the program prescribes? What would be helpful to flow over and away from this temptation? The answer seems obvious but what would be helpful to avoid making such a mistake? Saw that the program provides daily motivational videos from you. Truly excellent. Is there a best way to buy a 4 or 10 cycle subscription for a friend?

i honestly subscribed to your channel a couple years back and haven't watched any of your content in a long time, when all of a sudden i came across this woman using a macebell on IG. i thought to myself "how cool is that, another variation of a kettlebell!".. so i went I searching macebells on youtube and here i am at your channel again. the universe brought me back to your content at the same time you come out with a program for overweight deconditioned individuals -like myself. i haven't bothered any form of exercise in years bc it was always too difficult or uncomfortable for me being 100 lbs overweight. you explain it so well why all these programs fail people like us and why we end up throwing in the towel so fast. My posture has gotten awful since becoming a dog groomer and i do not enjoy walking my dog anymore so I'm super excited to start this program, it was fate that brought me to your content again and i am very grateful ill be able to start moving my body again

I am 39 years old, 5 feet tall weighing 70 kgs .. I used to work out. But then I’ve had some injuries - I have had 2 torn ligaments and a torn Peroneus Brevis tendon in my left ankle (7 year old which has never fully healed). The tendon injury spiked up this year again and I’ve got a lot of physiotherapy done for it which has helped - but I’ve been told I need to build strength and stability. I started doing beginner workouts for a few weeks recentky but got slight shooting pain in my right knee last week - especially when I squat or lunge all the way down to the floor. Walking is fine. Childbirth, injuries and a sedentary job have contributed to my situation. Basically right now, my upper body is injury free. Lower body not so much. I do have kettlebells at home - 4, 6 and 8kg and am comfortable with doing swings. I do have dumbbells at home - 1, 2 , 3, 5 and 7kgs I do not have clubbells. Would this program be suitable for me or do I need to get physiotherapy for the knee first ? I am based in India, so may not be able to follow the video real-time . Are these video recordings that can be watched any time and can they be cast onto the television?

Mark, I've been following your content for years and have done atheist one cycle of your 2h heavy club, bodyweight, and intermediate kettlebell programs. I'm a somewhat fit individual and I'm seen by my family and friends as a fitness fanatic. How do I sell this program to them if they're not into fitness in the first place. I have been overseas for a while so I'm not able to guide them through workouts and slowly motivate them to stay on track. I would love to get them the program but I fear they won't have the discipline to keep with it. For instance I have two family members that suffer from depression and I know that if they start moving more they would feel better more often. I also have a mother in law with lupis and she's scared of anything fitness related due to her recovery time being impacted by the sickness. She's also scared of what people would say since she's a deconditioned individual. Any suggestions?

Im finishing my first 4 week cycle. I had never done club swinging so started with a 2 handed bat. Is it suggested to focus in increasing weight of the club or going to single handed in the next cycle?

Question: what are your thoughts on training approaches for when you only have the use of one arm? I had a surgery to repair a torn distal bicep tendon and wont be able to load that side for a time.

Wherever it is they have lots of disabled allocated parking bays. Maybe his at a rehab centre at 6am before everyone arrives, so he can mention his program to all that are struggling to stand up just now 😊. Target audience 🎉

So will this program allow me to build a solid base foundation, after injury has sidelined me for a year, to get back into triathlon training and participation?

I don’t know your injury history, but that’s the general idea. This is part of a whole series of programs. This one is designed for people who were bed ridden

Can I do this? My right leg is 1+ inch shorter. I had a spiral fracture at mid shin. My fib snapped at ankle and at knee. No surgery due to massive soft tissue damage and obesity. I was 5’10” and weighed 285. When I got a walking cast the fracture was not healed enough and the bone slipped. My upper tibia overhangs the lower portion and is 3-4 degrees rotated outward. I ended up with a bulging disc, scoliosis, osteoporosis in my hip on my “good” side from over work with every step. I have failed in all my attempts to get a shoe that is the right height that I can walk in. Long story. My right leg has become weaker And weaker over time. My glutes are completely uneven in strength. To make it more complicated I have an abdominal fascia hernia from below and right of my navel to upward about 8 inches. It started off slow at a brittle scar tissue site from a drainage tube from an early in life surgery. I ignored it and It got worse over time when I was working out in the gym doing wood choppers! The one caveat is that it relieves some pressure on the bulging disc in my back. I have fallen many times with my center of gravity off and my right leg weaker and off kilter. It can’t feel the ground with those lifts on my shoe either. The workouts I have done and the falls have resulted in torn meniscus on right knee that I did not have surgery on and a loose ACL on left side. No surgery. Can I do this program and will you help me?

Are you working on a nutrition conditioning program or ideology to reprogram people how to eat to boost the programs even more. People today, including myself, do not eat in the same way we did 123 years ago. I think this problem is arguably as important as the ability to stand up/get up. Like a vicious cycle, possibly. What are your thoughts team?

Three more days till finished with Cycle 2. (4.5K KB & bat). Planning to start Cycle 3 with the Club Integration track. Wondering if it is reasonable to increase to Adex club 4.5# & 6K KB for this cycle? Or if too big a jump/too many variables changed at once? Any advice? 🙏

That is only a question that you can answer. Without seeing things personally, the best thing is always to practice practice practice so that you know your technique is good and go up in the smallest possible weight increments.

So, deconditioned -> intro KB ok. But for the next ones like swing, press, etc. Those programs are meant to be repeated with a heavier KB. I guess we don't have to wait for completing the swing program at 32kg before beginning the Clean&Press with a 12-16kg, right? How to mix the programs then to get a balanced weekly program? Sorry if you already explained that, it's just that I don't picture the whole thing yet.

Finish a program 3 times with 3 different weights then move to the next program. But keep doing the six basic movements of kettlebelling (or at least the ones you learned so far).

Hi mark, i bought this program but some things are a little bit unclear without asking them up on discord or your other youtubevideos. 1: in the program under “what weight am i working toward” as a starter weight, you mention start as light as possible working towards 12kg kettlebell. But that doesnt include the clubbell does it ? What would you reconmend here? 2: warmup/cooldown, as far as i can see you have not included instructions for those ?! They are immediately demonstrated in the follow-along videos. I know now you have playlists for warmup/cooldowns wich is great, so thats no a problem but maybe the videos for the specific warmups/cooldowns could be integrated into the program ? Other than that i'am happy with the program and look forward working with it 👍
