I really appreciate your taking the time to help people keep secure with our phones. This war against us and our freedoms just blows my mind. The manipulations to sway our opinions to follow that of whom ever is behind it is just unacceptable. I picked up a pixel pro and successfully installed graphene. Thank you. God bless and protect you and your channel.

@@sideofburritos so far so good. Slowly loading it with apps. One thing I could use advise on is what to do for texting. I want to resume normal texting with my people. Also... this means how to I get my contacts over? I have an iPh👁ne. Thank you.

Foss apps that I love and use all the time: - keePassDX - Password manager; - Infinity for Reddit; - Aegis - 2FA; - VLC - media player; - Joplin - note taking; - Mullvad - VPN; - Libretorrent - Torrent client

@@bstha aren't netguard and tracker control basically the same? What's different about them, that you'd want both?
@Mr.GoodKat572 жыл бұрын
@@bstha So netguard pro allows you to analyze traffic and block individual addresses. Which I'm assuming is what tracker control is doing. Just get the pro version of netguard. Or am I not understanding what that means?

So far, NetGuard is a must-have for me when privacy is priority. What the app does is that creates a local VPN from which you can by-choice select which apps you want to have access to the Internet. Even if an app has an explicit permission to connect, NetGuard will not allow it
@sideofburritos2 жыл бұрын
Interesting, is there a benefit to using NetGuard for that instead of removing the network permission from the app directly?

Thanks for sharing. I've just installed Trackercontrol and have launched some apps, however I only have the sliders for Monitoring and Internet Access, both are set to On, but I don't see the sliders for Block i.e. Advertising, Essential etc. I've checked the settings but I can't find an option to toggle the block on or off. Any suggestions? Thanks.
@sideofburritos2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, it could be one of two things. The first thing would be to confirm that it's switched to "On" and you see the "key" VPN icon in the top menu near the wifi/battery icon. If you do see that, it could also be the apps you opened don't have any trackers installed. I would try removing the app, and going through the VPN setup again to see if tha that helps.
@towesc2 жыл бұрын
@@sideofburritos Thanks for coming back on this. Sorry think I should have provide more info. It is switched on and I can see the key icon from the VPN and taking Reddit as an example, I can see several trackers appearing in Essential and Social, however not the block toggle. I ran this on GrapheneOS, not sure that would make a difference, but thought I mention it. I initially had installed it via Aurora and then removed it and installed it via sandboxed PlayStore, but this made no difference. I've reinstalled it via Aurora again and rebooted the device, to no avail. Don't wanna take too much time of you. Did you change any settings in "Network Options" or "Advanced Options"? Thanks.
@sideofburritos2 жыл бұрын
@@towesc Hmm, now that is very odd. The fact you see trackers means the VPN is working, but not seeing the block option...that I don't understand. You could try going into the app info (long pressing on the icon from your homescreen and selecting the little I) clearing the storage & cache and trying again. I don't think that will help though. One other option would be to create another profile on the phone and install the app there. That should help determine if it's an issue with a configuration on your current profile or a bug with the app. A new profile is like a clean install, sometimes I do this to quickly troubleshoot issues without wiping the phone.
@towesc2 жыл бұрын
@@sideofburritos Thanks. Tried all the above and as you guessed right, clearing the cache did not help. It seems to be a bug. I see the same behaviour with a new created profile, the block option is not there. Thanks again for your help, very much appreciated.

Tracker control doesn’t let me connect to anything lol. Did block ads on newpipe though
@sideofburritos Жыл бұрын
In android 13 there was a VPN option added to "block connections without VPN". Since some apps bypass tracker control intentionally (like the browser). You need to disable this option in the VPN configuration settings.
