🔥 Important Update: Dashlane is no longer our top pick for the best password manager, mainly due to its limited feature set and pricey premium tiers. Our new #1 pick is RoboForm. With its frill of awesome features, solid encryption, intuitive interface, and competitive pricing, we believe RoboForm is the best password manager your money can buy right now. Keeper is our second-best pick, while LastPass now ranks third on our list. *Here’re our updated rankings for the best password manager 👇 (official links):* 🏆 #1 Get RoboForm (30% off): thecyberlab.co/Roboform 👉 #2 Get Keeper (25% off): thecyberlab.co/Keeper 👉 #3 Get LastPass (20% off): thecyberlab.co/LastPass

Why did LastPass overtake Keeper out of curiosity?
@mikekoziel5770
@mikekoziel5770 3 жыл бұрын
My LastPass experience has gotten worst since its acquisition last year. It seems their strategy is to fix one bug and introduce 2 in its place. The most recent issue I ran into was shared pwds "disappearing" from my vault only to show back up when I log out and back in again. Also, the random "Request cancelled" message I get on 2FA is insanely frustrating. I had to turn 2FA off in order to use it on my phone (makes this solution dead last in my book). The icons they show inside the credential field edit boxes collide with other icons that webpages show making it hard to click either one...yet another annoyance. The mobile app experience asks you if you want to use LastPass to fill in the creds for a native app. Clicking on it forces reentering master password (even after you authenticated to lastpass already) only to be left with the credential fields NOT getting filled in. So many bugs. Been a user of it for 4 years...looking to dump it now. Checking out Bitwarden as I've read good things about it, not too many complaints and it has all the features I need to manage my family. So far...seems solid. No problems with 2FA (even when internet drops in and out), hallelujah.

My requirements for good password manager: - Keeps my passwords safe - Helps generate secure passwords - Inserts passwords into legit websites - Syncs my passwords accross multiple devices What I do not need from a password manager: - To provide cloud storage - To provide VPN - To provide other bloatware Then I would be willing to pay reasonable amount of money per year but definitely not $30 per year ... due to the above mentioned bloatware !!!

I'm still surprised that people are recommending LastPass. LastPass doesn't support the U2F protocol which is designed to prevent phishing attacks and LastPass have no intention of supporting U2F.

@Wadud Miah Lastpass' alternative to UU2F is Yubico. Their new fingerprint security key keeps you from getting hacked. Besides Yubico supports supports the open FIDO U2F and FIDO2/WebAuthn standards, both of which are widely used.

i love the video quality but what i find annoying is how what is industry standards are shown as cutting edge. i also find that the types of encryption are shown but it doesnt help any average video consumer because most people have no clue what it means. for example, during the nordpass segment, talking about them using xchacha20 instead aes26 instead of the advantages of each helps almost nobody. at least mentioning speed and it not needing hardware support would have been great. edit: you should also mention downsides of features such as emergency access

XChaCha20 is a non-feature. Your encryption is just as secure with AES-256 or Twofish. As far as the end user is concerned, there is no effective difference between them. It's excellent encryption all the way around, so choosing one over the other boils down to the preferences of the programmers or the service's decision-makers, not any special advantages of one over the other from a user's perspective.

Can't I just write all passwords in a book? As long as I look after the book it's going to be safe. Does this online storage, make it more secure? I also have passwords in a book, and numbers that go with the individual passwords, in another. You need both to get into things. So I'm covered for remembering them. So what else do these password managers do? I just made an account with bit warden, an its not especially impressive. No instructions or info. Just looks like an online folder. Looks like more life wasted figuring more online bollocks.
@TheCyberLab

That's clever @Roksana Hare. But what if you last one of the books or damaged one? Besides, password managers do a lot more. For instance, a password manager stores your passwords in an encrypted file, generates secure random passwords, and allow you to easily access your passwords across different devices you use: computers, smartphones, and tablets.
