Sometimes, I really hate people that comment on these videos. 'UNT has an ingredient from glue, so it's a glue based product! BOI. So that means cookies and bread are the same because they both have flour? That means humans and lakes are the same because they both contain water? That means ICE water and Diet Coke are both the same because they both contain carbonated water? That means shelves and paper are both the same because they came from trees? I could go one, but I won't, for the sake of this comment's point. Just because something has one ingredient does NOT mean it is the same. UNT may have one ingredient from glue, but other have FULL ON ELMERS, from the bottle, most likely.

I'm a swatcher and from my experience I have found that some glue based products do this weird thing where it absorbs some of the jelly from any kind of polish even if it is dry. This is what causes the polish to not remove cleanly so you have to use acetone to get it off entirely. I agree with Cristine UNT is definately the best for swatchers. I absolutely love all of your other videos as well

Well I'm not a swatcher but if i want to try out a new design, and peel it off, this is what i do: Apply a very thick coat of "Healthy hoof-hoof lacquer" nail strenghtener by Gena. This thing does a really good job at strenghtening, but it peels off during the day BUT it doesn't dry out my nails, no matter how thin or thick the coat is. Then apply pva glue, wait until it's dried, and paint it with my base colour. It really works for me, and it doesn't harm my crappy thin nails.

I've been using the UNT for my glitter swatches and it works really well, but I must not take 30 minutes to do my photos because I have to use two coats for it to work well. I don't use it for regular polish because it's faster for me to use polish remover. Thanks for the video, I appreciate all the work it takes you to do something like this so thoroughly!

+Kellie Gonzales (kelliegonzo) I've realized there's a few variables that can affect the effectiveness of its removal, including having added cuticle oil to your nail before you applied the peel off base coat (that will help it come off easier later, especially when swatching), and I also think a lot of how well it comes off in one piece vs. a couple pieces has to do with the shape of our nails :D I will make a follow-up vid on some of these random things to consider, thanks for the comment :D

I suppose this is why Cristine repeats herself so frequently even in these organized research presentation style vids - not everyone watches YT vids attentively or to the end before critiquing them. As for the decision itself to include yellow stopper, while I too don’t consider it a peel off base, I agree with it being fairly reviewed since swatchers were posting on IG that they use it as a peel off base (likely fewer than ones who’d recommend liquid latex or pure elmers glue, but still no less valid).

I make lots of swatches, up to 15 polishes per day but I don't use a peel off base, it just slows the process down too much for me. I use a normal basecoat and then apply the polish and taco's. After photographing it's still soft enough to wipe it off the nail with a tissue and for the leftover polish I use an oil based, non-acetone remover. It hydrates my nails and removes the polish. Works like a charm. If I do wear a glitter I use the OPI Glitter Off, it works but I think I'd prefer the UNT but unfortunately I can't seem to find it in the Netherlands.

Claire's nail polish is sub par compared to many, trust me I worked there and probably every bottle you buy has been used at least 15 times by either employees or grubby kids who don't have any discipline lmao. Plus if it was good you got one of the good batches, there are soooo many that shouldn't be on the shelf but we can't go and swatch every single one, the returns on them are so high in numbers. Just ur friendly retail employee though lol.

I did another test . I used modpoge ( a type of glue) Results Application :1000/10 (better then actual Polish) Drying time : 1000/10 (it was about 30sec-1 min Peeling: -1000/10 (I had to wash it off with pure acetone) Overall not a good peel of basecoat.

I once bought an OPI 2in1 base /taco and even though I didn't want it to peel off I found it would just peel off really easily in one go. This got annoying when I wanted my nails to last like a week but for deliberate short term wear it may work as a peel off base coat.
