Taylor performs live; she doesn't lip sync. She's worked really hard on her vocals over the years and her performances because she was knocked for that early in her career. For the Eras tour she trained on a treadmill singing all her songs while she ran and/or sang so that she could work on her breath control. The Eras show is roughly 3.5 hours long with only costume changes; there is no intermission. Now watch the Ready For It music video - it is fire!!

I'm 68 and dove into her music this year to see what the fuss was about. But I also looked into who she is, watched several interviews, two of her full concerts, her Miss Americana documentary, and looked into the Kanye/Taylor drama. This is long but it's the full scoop as I recall it... Kanye West interupted Swift when she won her first VMA when she was 18 or 19, taking the mic away and declaring Beyonce's was the best music video of all time. President Obama called him a jackass the next day and he got booed when he went to a baseball game. West made nice with Swift because he was getting absolutely roasted over it. Flash forward, he asked her to present the him Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMA's to show everybody they're good and she did. Then in Feb 2016 he released his song Famous which included the lines ''I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous". Swift was not happy. How it went down on Twitter: - Swift responded on twitter saying she didn't approve of those lyrics and would like to be excluded from his narative. - Kim Kardashian responded to her post with "Taylor Swift is a lying snake and I have the receipts", along with a bunch of snake emoji's, and a video attached. The video was Kanye on a video call with Swift about the song and it seemed like she didn't mind and was ok with it. But it only included the line - "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex" was in the video - Swift responded he never said anything about calling her a bitch, and where is the rest of the call But the damage was already done. The aftermath: As you saw in the intro to this video Swift has been getting nonsense flak from the media for some time. The media jumped all over this saying she was playing the victim (again) to get attention, and called her a liar. A magazine even had a picture of her on their cover with 'LIAR' in large print. "Taylor Swift Is Over Party" was the number one trending hashtag on twitter worldwide with all manner of vile comments directed at Swift along with loads of snake emoji's. It was so bad Swift shutdown all her social media, left the country, and wasn't seen in public for over a year. Her reputation was destroyed and she actually thought her career might be over. To add insult to injury Kanye released a music video for his song Famous that included a very lifelike nude wax figure of Swift in bed with him. Kanye fans were chanting 'F*** Taylor Swift' at his concerts when he performed Famous. The comeback: She re-opened her social media in November 2017 and posted a video of a slithering snake and nothing else. Then she posted 'there will be no explanation there will only be Reputation' along with the release date for her new album. It really was a comeback album. When she announced her Reputation Stadium Tour many in the industry, and particularly in the media, were saying there was no way she could sellout stadiums now. They were wrong, all of her shows sold out. For the tour she embraced the snake, a costume with snakes on it, snakes on the screen at times, and a large inflated snake onstage. The tour was highly successful and she was back. She declined all interview requests throughout her tour because she was sure they focus on the drama rather than her new album. She stuck to 'no explanation, just reputation'. The music video for the song 'Look What You Made Me Do' (highly recomend you watch it) is all about Kanye, Kim, and the media. The opening you need to see for yourself, but there's plenty of snakes in the video. She spent money on this video. At the end there's multiple versions of Taylor saying things that the media has said about her and one version (dressed like Kim Kardashian) is holding up a phone. When asked if she's filming this she says I'm collecting receipts, I'll edit this later. Basically mocking Kim and accusing her of editing the phone call video to make her look bad. The last part of the video is quite funny and well played. End of the snake: Her first single from her next album 'Lover' (2019) was the song 'ME!'. The music video opens with a slithering snake that explodes into butterflies. Showing she's over the drama and moving on. It's a much happier upbeat album than Reputation. The Truth: In 2020 the full video Kim recorded was leaked online showing Swift had been telling the truth all along. Although she said the one line wasn't mean she really didn't give her approval of anything. She said she'd like to hear the full song, and actually stated several times she'd have to think about it. Kim was inundated with snake emoji's and had twitter block the emoji from her account. Karma is a bitch. For some reason Kanye and Kim conspired (there's no other way to put it) to destroy Swifts reputation hoping to end her career. There's a video of Kim's mother telling her to call Swift and apologize to end this thing. Kim said that's never going to happen. She also stated publicly, "I was just supporting my husband" as her excuse. Kim and Kanye divorced before the full video was leaked.

@@HarnoorrDhillon During covid I discovered enjoyment in watching videos of young people reacting to the music I grew up with as a time killer. Now I'm retired and have time to kill. If something really sparks my interest I tend to deep dive. I knew who Swift was but didn't know her music at all. With her Eras tour breaking records she was all over the news but I also saw on Facebook countless posts saying all her fans are 12 years, all she does is breakup songs, all her songs sound the same, and she can't sing or dance. I found that hard to believe so I dove in to see what the fuss was about both positive and negative. I'm mainly an old rock/blues guy. I wasn't surpised that none of negative comments are true at all, but I was surprised at how many of her songs I actually enjoyed. Not all her music is for me, but I've always been able to appreciate good lyrics and storytelling in songwriting regardless of genre. That's her real gift. Now I enjoy watching reactions to her music. So welcome to Taylor Swift. It's an enjoyable journey worth taking.

Great fun to watch this reaction, you should also do I did something Bad, and Don't blame me, Live from the Rep tour too! Top tier performances! Not only did she play it. but the intro was actual real clips of critics. She gave several of them VIP invites to her tour opening and then played the intro! Reputation was her come back after she was wrongly accused of lying over agreeing controversial lyrics with Kayne. There was a worldwide no hashtag on Twitter of Taylor swift is over party and she ended up leaving the US for a year and dropping out of public life.

One of my favorite things about Taylor is that when she’s told she can’t or is bad at something, she pretty much says challenge accepted. Early in her career she was told she can’t sing. So she’s done the work she needed to sing better than she did in the beginning. She was told she can’t dance, so she learned how and started including it more in concerts. I don’t know if you’ve listened to anything from her newest album (you’re new to me) but one of the songs is called thanK you aIMee (later changed to thank You aimEe), the uppercase letters told her fans this was a diss track towards K&K. One of the lines in that song is “I built a legacy you can’t undo” and she’s right. She is breaking records and changing boundaries and I am here for it.

I've been a Swiftie since her first, self-titled, album. Back then, she was a teenager, singing country music. She wrote all her own stuff even then and has only gotten better. She refused to be kept in a single box or genre of music. She has said that every song she writes has the ability to be pulled back and played as an acoustic version. She has proved that with the surprise songs during her Eras tour. And her lyric writing is genius level poetry and bars.

I have been getting told this a lot. She started as country but explored other genres.. She just loves her craft

I don’t know if she played that Intro for all of her Reputation shows. She did very little publicity for this album/tour because it was the album she wrote after she felt she had been canceled due to some Kanye W. and Kim K drama. She’s said that she chose not to talk about it prior because she knew that all the interviews would ask about the K&K drama and not the music. At some point she said there will be no explanation, only reputation. We are all eagerly awaiting the Taylor’s version of this album.

The tea, Kanye called Taylor to talk about some lyrics about her for his song Famous, he recorded the conversation. When the song came out, she said she did not know about the lyrics "I made that b!tch famous". Kim edited that tape to make it sound like Taylor was lying, then posted it on social media calling her a liar and a snake, the hate became too much and Taylor disappeared for a year, when she came back it was with Reputation. The love songs on the album are about Joe Alwyn whom she met around the time the drama happened or before. Taylor does not lip sync, in fact, she sounds better live.
