Best Phone I Never Reviewed! | Vivo X100 Pro

Reviewing the Vivo X100 Pro, a long time after its global release - and I'm glad I did because the camera, gaming performance and battery life are amazing! I missed the Vivo X100 Pro when it first launched but here's my verdict vs rivals like the Samsung S24 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 series.
One of the best bits of this flagship smartphone is that Zeiss branded camera tech, which can capture fantastic portrait photos and everyday pics. Vivo's triple 50MP lens arrangement offers the usual flexibility while the X100 Pro 5G can also record up to 8K video.
Performance is one of the most interesting areas too. Mediatek's Dimensity 9300 is in charge and means gaming on Genshin Impact is a beautifully smooth experience. In my testing the Vivo X100 Pro got a bit toasty, but that didn't seem to impact the frame rate thankfully. And FunTouch's dedicated game mode is a great addition.
Battery life is also just as solid, matching the best smartphones of 2024 including the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. So overall there's very little to moan about, even if the Vivo X100 Pro is somewhat lacking as far as excitement or USPs go.

The cons of this phone are its stereo speakers and only 3 years of software updates. Coming from an iPhone, speakers are underwhelming. The autofocus and macro of the phone is heavenly. Vivo photo processing is on another level, best in the business.

Absolutely LOVE mine. The telephoto lens is just INSANE. The macro shots and close focusing distance ability of the lens too is just incredible. I have plenty shots already that actually rival shots taken on my A7C. Processing is normally very impressive as well.

vivo has always been the best in camera and picture processing. I have ancient vivo x50pro that takes portrait pictures better than iphone 14.

Portrait mode with vintage filter is seriously good. Great with almost any subject, especially with people photos. I've ended up using it way more than my Fuji X-T20. And the supermacro mode with texture filter. Wow. Amazing product photography.

I have been using this as my daily driver since the end of November, in the mean time I have switched to S24U, 15 Pro Max, Oppo X7 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 ultra, Magic 6 Pro, but everysingle time I came back to the X100 pro. Uncle Spurt, when X Fold 3 and 3 Pro? The 3 has an SD 8Gen3 and has a way more affordable price than the typical cost of foldables at launch, while the 3 Pro has an 8gen3 and even in its maxed-out storage configuration costs less than a Z Fold 5... all configurations for both variants have 16gb of ram.

​​@@TedThomasTT plus OriginOS is much smoother than any other android skins plus the night mode is the best. Only cons for me are sometimes I got missed notifications. I need to open the app to be able to get the notifs like Instagram. Plus the speaker quality is just average and mic is terrible plus the beautification of people in the camera, even though I turned off the beautification. I'm using it alongside with my s24 ultra.

Samsung сильно отстал по камерам даже от IPhone, нужно догонять. У Vivo X100 Pro отличный производительный процессор (по многим тестам мощнее и холоднее Snapdragon 8g3), замечательное время автономной работы, быстрая и точная разблокировка по лицу (работает почти как Face ID на IPhone), яркий и сочный дисплей (пульсация экрана одна из самых минимальных, глаза не устают от AMOLED экрана, DC Dimming можно включить в настройках разработчика), скорость зарядки феноменальная - 30 минут и 100 процентов 🔋(зарядный блок в комплекте без фейковой эко темы Apple и Samsung). Минусы тоже есть, но в целом они не существенные: - Динамики на 4 из 5 (у IPhone 15 Pro Max и S24 Ultra они лучше), но в целом не плохо. - Виброотклик средний по качеству (опять же, у Samsung, Apple и OnePlus вибро лучше). - Сложно найти рабочее положение беспроводной зарядки, некоторые беспроводные зарядки от Samsung с Vivo в принципе не работают. - Лично мне не хватает S Pen и огромного прямоугольного дисплея S23 Ultra. Ещё дырка фронтальной камеры X100 Pro очень большая. По итогу: если вам нужны максимальные возможности по камере, то Vivo X100 Pro на данный момент это лучший вариант.

Say, can you comment on the situation with notifications? I hear you have to turn off battery optimisations for each app you want to be able to deliver you notifications (ie. SMS app, Facebook Messenger etc.) and still it will fail to deliver them after some time?

how does the rest of the phone compare to Honor Magic 6 Pro, ignoring the camera since i know it is better. I want to know at the same price given the overall package, which might be a better deal. Honor's improvement on PWM, screen tech and screen toughness is kinda attractive to me since I read alot on phone and quite often read in the dark

Honor has better screen, especially the PWM as you mentioned it.. Also better speakers and the Face Unlock is amazing. Vivo has the upper hand in the camera department. Your choice.

This phone is a monster!! The top right now. Too bad Dimensity 9300 is too greedy on shooting... If you have tested it on it, you'd have noticed the battery dropping too fast. But, still the best phone at the moment 💪 👏

Have it since december. Its actually phenomal on a daily basis on the camera side. Especially the telephoto lense is insane. As an apple user i wasnt satisfied with the 15 pro max. Speakers and selfie cam arent that good but everything else is top notch. Cant go back to the 15 pro max with the potato camera 😁 The 5x on the iPhone is super trash and last last last gen.

Phone camera is very limited, baiscally 90% software and 10% hardware. That's why google does magic photos even in budget phone, pixel a series. Nevertheless, good hardware is good hardware, 1 inch sensor IMX989+ 4.3x zoom camera OV64B is pretty much the best in the game
