It's great that the big box stores have been introducing less common plants to a wider consumer base. What I dislike is the trend to upsell plants at a higher price by placing them in a heavy ceramic cache pot. As a plant dude/geek, I would rather buy a plant in a simple plastic pot at a lower price. Also it is my understanding that if a distressed or unsold plant goes in the dumpster, so does the heavy ceramic cache pot...

The first time I ever ordered plants through the mail was after watching your unboxing video from Perico Plants. I immediately went to their site and ordered from them. I've since ordered several plants from them and have never had a problem with those plants. We love your shopping tours, Peggy.

Hi Peggy. I am also in Central FL and I always shop Lowes and Walmart for plants. I always check the clearance section and have found the best deals. I stopped on the way home today and brought back two rescues from Walmart 🙂

I find that all the big box stores don't take care of their plants, they're so over priced, don't buy them there anymore... bought a plant online once it was dead when arrived, but they did reimbursed me for it so I'm reluctant to try that again.

I find that that some big box stores do a better job of caring for their plants than others and the same is true for online plant sellers. I find the ones that work best for me and stick to them. I encourage you to stick with what works for you. Happy growing!

Lowe's has the worst overwatered plants that I've ever seen and neglected. I've poured water out of plants that are sitting in pots with no well cover pots that was floating in water all the way up to the top.
