Best Pool & Snooker games on Steam in 2021

I remember buying an earlier version of Virtual Pool way back around 2000 or 2001 and I can honestly say it improved my real life pool game. After playing it on the PC I was doing much better on an actual pool table and used that as my edge when playing against friends lol.

i have snooker 19 and its so breathtaking like you will feel that you are the one playing with the opponent in tournaments haha

Virtual Pool 4 is king as far as gameplay. I even like that the menus looks far outdated. Brings me back to a time where I was always trying to find the better pool games.

I think Cue Club 2 ball - table scaling is off. It feel arcadey too. For physics and realism go for VP since the creator was an ex Lockheed Martin physics engineer and an avid pool player (Tall Steve).

I loved Pool Nation... but if you have an Ultrawide Monitor, or Triple Screen (with surround/eyefinity enabled), or a VR HMD hooked up... expect bad times. Just recently picked up Cue Club 2, and I too am impressed by it... love to see it's getting frequent updates too.

Snooker 19 is up there and for pool I think pool club 2 has a nice relaxed feel

Thanks for this was looking for a new pool snooker game to play as snooker. 19. Career mode bores the crap out of me . Done seem to get no more than 10 online players these days . Game needs an overhaul😂

Apologies I disagree with number 1 spot. Virtual Pool 4 has ro be the number 1 spot, it is as close to real physics as you are going to get. There are so many in game games such as cowboy, snooker, english pool and all the american games. This brings me to Shooters Pool which isnt on your list. This is also a contender for number 1 spot with close to real life physics.

Yea I’ve played a bit of shooters pool but the subscription model puts me off but like the “esport” side of it.

@@SwitchedOn i dont play shooterd much but Virtual Pool 4 I do and the sake of 10 dollar for an entire year is nothing for what you get out of it. For me out of the 2, VP4 wins hands down. I have played multiple games in VP4 with over 50 147s. Obviously this is my own personal opinion, but the game should be number 1 spot even if its a 9+ year old game. However, if VP4/Shooters Pool were combined it would be the ultimate pool game available. For me the Physics in shooters pool isnt quite there and shooters can only be played on your own or online only. Another feature VP4 had is the option to do both, offline and online.

The barrier to entry on vp4 and shooters is huge though and tough for casual players to git gud but the others do feel like you can play and get a good feeling of being decent at pool. Room for all of them :)

@@SwitchedOn I'm trying to find information on shooterspool but its hard to find. Are you sure it has a subscription model? The games website FAQ page says "No. It is a one payment game without subscription plans. ". But I wouldn't just take their word for it. Trying to find anything out about that game is suprisingly hard

@@tracerseven7564 You can play a couple of game types online with the free version (winner-stays-on format) but if you buy the full version you can make match rooms and enter tournaments, etc. There's also a virtual currency system so as well as paying for the software, you may need to buy more virtual currency if you gamble away what they give you when you buy

Virtual Pool actually has English Billiards which is very fun game but it lacks offline CPU mod and can only be played with second player or online and beside I don't know the reason why billiard games don't have English Billiards included and only pool and Snooker are focused especially on Android platform, all I can find is extremly boring carrom billiards.

Cue Club 2 felt horrible compared to Virtual Pool 4, requested a Steam refund for it. VP4 has the gameplay and controls nailed no contest, even if the graphics aren't as good, it plays the best. Also tried Shooter Pool but its no VP4 either.

I have Cue Club 2 it is a good game, you mentioned a Career mode, but there isn’t a Career mode in it as yet, if there was it would be a great game

Guys just try to play snooker stars on android by giraffe games. None of the mentioned games here comes close to the it in terms of graphicss and mechanics. Most realistic game i have ever played. Wish i could play it on PC too.

i have steam deck and these lazy developers cant understand using a mouse and keyboard is a huge hassle and not fun .you need to use joysticks and buttons not keyboard and mouse .thats why gamers buy the switch versions the lazy developer must configure it the right way a pity they dont get it right .no keyboard no mouse is the only way i will buy a pool game .if i wanted to use that garbage i would use windows which sucks i wanted to like cueclub but unless i can use normal controls no mouse shit thanks for the review
