Best Putters for 2016 Golf Season | PGA Equipment Guide

I am rather new to playing golf. I am 57 yrs old and just started playing and of course learning how to play, back in April 2016. I love the game! I started out with an old generic putter that could be used by a righty or lefty. Simple putt putt type. About two weeks ago, I finally bought a better putter. I went to Academy Sports and found a lefty putter by Wilson called Ultra. The head is black and has a half curve to it in the back. It is a little heavier than the silly putter I started out with. I like it a lot. I only paid $20 for it. At this stage of my playing, as I improve, I may find another putter that I like better. But for now, I'll enjoy this Ultra. I played a short par three, nine hole course the other day, and I made an 18 ft putt in the hole, and birdied a hole on one of the nine. Yeah baby!

You don't have to be a smart alec about it. You are probably one of those that is good at golf, but forgot that you used to be a beginner and had to learn like everybody else. There's always a goon like you out there somewhere. Furthermore, I'll spend what I choose to spend and as I improve I shall be a better golfer and when I am good, I'll help others to become good, unlike people like you. Criticism will get you no where with me.

I have a scotty cameron Newport putter and I just tried out the new phantom putters, they feel and look just like my scotty cameron and are only 50 bucks.

just get YERSELF a PING ANSWER MANGANESE. ANSWER 2 MANGANESE GREAT ALSO. NOS 2 DOESN'T HAVE THE SLOT SO SLIGHTLY QUIETER.. STOOD TEST OF TIME . THE BEST.

Scotty putters are a complete rip off, they only cost $20 to produce..

you are not very familiar with labor hours are you? Do you have any idea how much a master machinist makes per hour? MAYBE the material costs $20 once a design has reached production. I promise you, you add all the design, testing and everything else that goes into getting a putter to market, the cost per putter is well beyond $20.

+sodthong Jason is 100 percent correct. All clubs are like that, its the time that it takes and the exact right weight a feel for the club would make it worth how much they are.
