Purchased 6 of these at equipment expo in Kentucky many years ago. Use them every fall commercially. Never replaced tines (I do have 2 handles to replace) got them for $25 each last day of show. Great investment to accompany our power de-thatchers and core aerators

Been using for 3 years and it is my go to for everything accept racking leaves. My favorite use for it is when doing an overseed or reno. Use the rake in a back and forth motion never lifting off the ground and it will prepare the perfect seed bed. I like the 9" however it tends to want to go left or right on you but definitely a great rake. The price confused me also vs. 21". Backyard is looking great. 👍

I can confirm the Groundskeeper 2 kicks ass for removing thatch and moss. I got the same situation, I have the Sun Joe, but it won't get the edges with the landscaping stones in the way. So I use the Groundskeeper 2 around the perimeter, and to get aggressive with the spots that the Sun Joe misses, because even with a double-pass with the scarifier it doesn't get everything, especially if there's some dips in the yard. And it does work great as a general rake, but for leaves I still like using the wide plastic leaf rake since it's a bit wider and the leaves don't get stuck in it as much.

@duncanbrown70823 жыл бұрын
This absolutely is a fantastic rake. It can be used in both directions as well, which is good after you put new seed down. Be careful when installing the tines. I got part of my finger stuck under one. Ouch! The springs do most of the work for you.

@richv81243 жыл бұрын
The one key benefit that should be emphasized is that the standard dethatching rake doesn't need to be lifted off the ground to use it. You just push it back and forth on the ground like your using a vacuum cleaner, as you demonstrated. This key feature allows me to use it for extended periods of time with much less fatigue than my Groundskeeper. Still like the Groundskeeper but not for multi hour debris removal work.
@PacificNorthwestLawns3 жыл бұрын
I’ve found the opposite to be true. I’d much rather use the groundskeeper rake than a thatch rake. Boils down to what works for you. 👍🏼
@richv81243 жыл бұрын
@@PacificNorthwestLawns Agreed comes down to personal preference. One thing rarely discussed about the dethatching rake is you can use it one handed effectively. Comes in handy if you have a shoulder issue or blisters.
@craigphillips31545 ай бұрын
I bought a dethatching rake when i first mofed into my house 3 years ago. I tried it and really wanted tk like it. However, it was horrible for my Bermuda. All it did was wear me out and rip up my stolons. The Groundskeeper II, on the other.hand, is great (once you understand how to use it). For just leaf and debris removal, you dont push down. Just let the rake glide over and it does the job. If you want to remove thatch.or wash lines /tiger stripes then you put some downward force on it and it will pull that crap up out of the canopy. And, most importantly, it wont do nearly as much damage to the stolons in my Bermuda. I still have my metal tined leaf rake for leaf removal, but the Groundskeeper II is what i grab most iften now.
