I've owned the DeWalt 60 volt for a few years now. When I was working at a framing crew I was told I needed to work more efficiently, because the lead guy was wasting so much time and had no clue how to layout a site. No joke literally the reason I had to leave the company. But when they told me to be more efficient the only thing I could think of was a faster saw and I had been running a Skil Worm Drive for years like 15 years but it's RPMs only 3600. I was staring at the DeWalt saw in a Home Depot when a guy who runs a different framing crew came in and said just buy it and it's the fastest I've ever used. No regrets. But I'm watching the video because you never know when something's better

I work with a small crew, my bosses son makes phone calls all day. My boss will get back to the job site and tell us we need to be more efficient. Too bad I have to bite my tongue, like man I’m dripping in sweat passed my god damn knees and your sons FaceTiming his girlfriend.

Sorry for your guys bad experiences, i have had similar so my rule now being a carpenter is i only work for high end large company's and i run into these issues far less. The slam bam cheapo crews are always harder to be part of the team and make a good wage without having to get too much work done in a day cause big company's bid higher for starters and then bid extra high is you do specialty high end work.

Metabo HPT just dropped their 36V rear handle Multivolt true Worm drive and yes it can be plugged in to the AC adapter for those long rips and that lifetime warranty Says it's the lightest if bunch-now another great reason for me to add another saw to my collection of Milwaukee Fuel and 36V Makita

it's not a true worm drive, though. Otherwise an impressive saw

@@baseballdude8491 Metabo HPT tools are severely underrated. So far I've only purchased an 18V Brushless drill/driver kit that I gave to my mom for Christmas but I'll be getting more tools in the future. came to see how these saws compare, as having owned makita 36v, dewalt 60v, and the skilsaw cordless wormdrive.. as this review mentioned, the " only true worm drive" doesnt do the skilsaw justice, a true worm drive in itself is a huge advantage, it brings the saw to a whole different saw league. also i dont think your review empisize the downside of having a " true wormdrive", as you did mentioned the heavier wieght of rear handle saws , but the skilsaw in particular, from my experience, is a much, much heavier saw than even other rear handle cordless saws i have owned, probally due to its gearbox.

I have the dewalt and the skillsaw. That temptress Sarah Lee convinced me to buy the skillsaw, but I like how compact the flexvolt dewalt is
@Nyall4 жыл бұрын
How is the balance on the two saws? The skillsaw has the battery under the handle, moving a lot of weight backwards, instead of being extended in front of you.

They’re really all good saws, with minor nuances. Beyond that as always it’s the operator and not the tool that makes a project come out well. I’ve always been loyal to one platform, at least since tools were cordless, and that is advantageous. At the same time I’ve always made exceptions if the benefits outweigh the cost. Years ago I discovered the Panasonic drill driver and found it far superior to all the rest, so all my employees used the DeWalt tools and I had my other. So DeWalt, Milwaukee and Makita are all good platforms to invest in, but if you just have to have the Metabo saw because it’s lighter than all the rest than go for it.

I have two of these saws. One for wood the other for concrete. Im a little surprised that you said you had what appears to a bad apple. The saw I use for wood is dead on and the Concrete saw (you couldn't tell the difference) holds up the longevity portion as I have used it for numerous commercial grade projects of cutting concrete slabs, asphalt, and pavers.
