I have a Challenger 7 GTX and I really like them. You are right when you say road and trail. Super comfortable underfoot on either surface.

For me, right now, on dry, hilly, moderately technical trails - the Asics Superblast 2 is getting the job done - climbing, descending, off chamber lengths, comfortable precise fit. Out of the box, the forefoot is a bit stiff, but with some manual flexing from the toe zone to the midfoot zone, the overall forefoot becomes quite flexible. On dry, slightly maintained trails, this shoe is really fun and fast.

I can see how they could be fun on very mild, dry, and non technical trails. The super blast is a very fun road super trainer
@suggg4 ай бұрын
Also, the nice thing about the super blast shoes is the complimentary song from the band lush of the same name. You can hum that song while you're railing away on trails in the Asics shoes

Hello, I am looking for shoes for running only on dirt and flat roads. Light terrain, that is. Sometimes I want to use them on very short asphalt roads. Nike Trial 5 or Zegama 2, which one should I buy?
@trailandkale2 ай бұрын
The Nike Pegasus Trail 5 does a better job at doing both. That said the Zegama 2 will perform well for both too and has some more cushioning under the forefoot,
@stephensolis68244 ай бұрын
Would you consider the Ultraglide 2 to be a Road to Trail shoe? If so, and you've run in it, how would you rank it against the Pegasus 5?
@trailandkale4 ай бұрын
Hey 👋🏼 no the ultraglide 2 is an all mountain trail running shoe and a very good one too ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXnVgpyMo72Fj7csi=_YFVE5KECmZBC9ab )! It’s a very different shoe to the peg trail 5, so tricky to compare the two but if you have a specific thing you want to know about on either or how that specific thing compares, let me know.

I wish the Pegasus Trail did not have such a big drop. I’ve never run in a trail shoe with more than a 5mm drop (most have been zero to 4mm), so not sure how I feel about nearly doubling that with the Pegasus.
@trailandkale4 ай бұрын
I’d recommend trying them as the drop doesn’t feel that high, it feels more like 6mm. I’m one of the biggest high drop haters out there 😄but understand their purpose for some runners.
