I watched your video for the first time, looking for a rum cake that was like my mom used to make and yours is about the closest thing I remember I am using yours for Christmas since it's my turn to host the Christmas eve dinner. Well I'm glad you came across my video. Welcome to the channel and I hope you like the content. I would make it up to 2 days prior because I recommend a minimum of one after the cooking process that allow the cake to absorb the rum. So 2 days it good. But 3 days max.

Pretty much the same way. II would prepare the cake batter the same way and pour into cup cake pan. Reduce the cooking time. And follow the same steps in video for adding the rum glaze. Let me know how it goes.

Totally with you on not normally wanting to add nuts to cakes, brownies, etc. I love all kinds of nuts, but generally have a textural issue when they are added to baked goods. Actrully that’s not rum cake also you need a special rum that’s high exspensive. Trust me I’m Jamaican on my mothers side and I wish people just make things right . Do not use a cake box , make it by scratch. You need a high exspensive Jamaican rum. Not of that that is rum cake not even the souce not even close
