Her 5 TIPS: 1) EGGS: Use 4 eggs instead of 3 eggs 2) VEGETABLE OIL: Replace the vegetable oil with butter; use 2/3 c melted, unsalted butter 3) WATER: Ditch the water; use 1 cup of buttermilk 4) PUDDING MIX: add 1 pack of Jello Pudding Mix; use flavors that compliment each other 5) VANILLA: use pure vanilla; 1 teaspoon of vanilla (or 1/2 t vanilla and 1/2 t lemon) Bake 350 degrees 36 minutes or until toothpick is inserted and clean

This was the best cake I've made in ages. My husband and I just finished eating this cake recipe, I made this afternoon and it's a BIG WOW.😮... my difference was I only had a white cake mix and box of banana pudding mix. I picked up buttermilk with my groceries today. I even had 4 oz of cream cheese and I softened and added 1 cup of confectioners sugar, 1/4 tsp vanilla flavoring, 1 Tablespoon of milk. Then I poured over my Bundt cake, to drizzle down the side. Now my husband really isn't a cake fan, but boy the comments he gave and raved over how soft and moist this cake is. He really wanted to get another piece, but I had to hurry and put the cake away. Dear Sister......I'll rave over this recipe forever. And I love to bake. I can only imagine what combination I will use for Christmas....May you be blessed.

Thanx for those tips because they worked perfectly. I will never make a box cake following the box directions ever again!! I would recommend any bakers in the comments to make this cake if you haven't already. It's absolutely delicious!!

If you're a "crust girl", instead if buttering and flouring the pan, butter then sprinkle pan with SUGAR. Comes out crispy. Works well on banana, zucchini, etc breads too. When I made this, topped it with warmed blueberry preserves. Goes good with lemon.

I ran out of my last bottle of Mexican vanilla and now I make my own -- it's better!!! Use a sterilized pint canning jar with lid, add 5-6 sliced/scraped vanilla beans, add vodka to 1/2" from the top, and close with a sterilized lid or a flat and ring. You're not trying to seal the jar like canning, so it can be a used flat or lid but be sure to sterilize with boiling water. Label with the date, put in a dark pantry or cabinet, and leave for 2-6 months, shaking every now and then. I buy a dozen vanilla beans on amazon for about $10, and always found them to be fresh - probably because they sell so much. Anyway, it is AMAZING -- and will run you about $10 for an entire pint !!! I've also made a batch with orange vodka, just like a creamsicle. 🙂 You can also use rum or experiment with other alcohols. And if you remember to make them in the summer, you'll have glorious gifts for your baking friends at Christmas!

For the heavy whipping cream in the wet mixture, I did 3/4 cup cream with the additional 1/4 being hazelnut coffee creamer. To amp up the nuttiness. And instead of lemon extract, I used almond extract. Got my lemon from the lemon zest, and a tablespoon of the juice. Which seemed to electrify the tang of the buttermilk. It was loved! But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. JESUS CHRIST can come anytime! Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

@@selenabostick5844 could you please share your recipe for those brownies
@selenabostick58443 жыл бұрын
@@anaburuca8684 it’s not really a recipe. I used 2 Duncan Hines brownie boxes with one pouch of instant jello. I added a little more oil to account for the jello. The secret is putting them in the oven at a super low temperature and using the toothpick method to make sure it’s done.

Thank you so much for the recipe! I just placed my cake in the oven, the only differences are that, I used lemon cake mix & lemon pudding, and I did not have buttermilk, however, I replaced it with 1 cup of 7up. I’m hoping that it still turns out to be delicious!🤗👍🏽
@deanellscott20942 жыл бұрын
How did it turn out? I may try 7up...
@peachmelba93332 жыл бұрын
They even sell little bundt cakes at Walmart made with 7UP and Orange Crush, so it should have turned out good. Last Christmas I think they had some Red Velvet with either Coke or Dr Pepper as a Base. Not sure because I'm allergic to all those Dark Soda Pops.

I have been *doctoring* box cake (for cupcakes only - still make all of my cakes from scratch) for about 15 years. A professional baker shared this "secret" with me and I've done it ever since.

I used to do this for wedding cakes. I just tried the new Duncan Hines Dolly Parton coconut cake using coconut pudding, didn't have buttermilk so I used 1/2 milk 1/2 sour ream and a couple of tbs extra butter. The batter was thick smooth and creamy. Cake is very much like pound cake. This cake is a keeper.

The original recipe for box cake mixes was with milk and butter, it changed in the 80s. My favorite is to fold in a prepared package of Dream Whip to this recipe!! It makes 3 big layers that are so moist and fluffy.

No buttermilk? Simply add a little vinegar or lemon juice (acidity) to curdle milk = buttermilk

I love Duncan Hines French Vanilla cake mix and I used to make pound cakes with it all the time, I didn’t change from the oil I just added a little bit more, but I did add an extra egg and I also ditched the water for nectar, preferably mango or apricot, and sometimes I added different extracts such as lemon or almond etc in addition to my vanilla of course. No one new that those cakes were not made totally from scratch. 😊
