1 Duncan Hines French Vanilla box cake mix
1 pk 3.4oz French vanilla instant pudding mix
4 large eggs @ room temperature
2/3 cup melted butter @room temperature or simply use same quality as box instructions (1/3 cup)
1 cup buttermilk (room temp)
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

This was the best cake I've made in ages. My husband and I just finished eating this cake recipe, I made this afternoon and it's a BIG WOW.😮... my difference was I only had a white cake mix and box of banana pudding mix. I picked up buttermilk with my groceries today. I even had 4 oz of cream cheese and I softened and added 1 cup of confectioners sugar, 1/4 tsp vanilla flavoring, 1 Tablespoon of milk. Then I poured over my Bundt cake, to drizzle down the side. Now my husband really isn't a cake fan, but boy the comments he gave and raved over how soft and moist this cake is. He really wanted to get another piece, but I had to hurry and put the cake away. Dear Sister......I'll rave over this recipe forever. And I love to bake. I can only imagine what combination I will use for Christmas....May you be blessed.

If you're a "crust girl", instead if buttering and flouring the pan, butter then sprinkle pan with SUGAR. Comes out crispy. Works well on banana, zucchini, etc breads too. When I made this, topped it with warmed blueberry preserves. Goes good with lemon.

Thanks for the lovely recipe! I grew up with a mom from the country who made most things from scratch! When she did use a box recipe, it was always Duncan Hines….so thats what i always buy! YAS SIS! I be doctoring up a cake mix in a minute! And if you do it right, ppl really can't tell that its from a box. Sometimes we don't have that time with our busy lives. Actually you are right about the bakery thing. quite a few of them use a high quality box mix to get consistant results. Gently bump sides of mixing bowl several several times while cake batter is still in the bowl this will help trapped air bottles come to the top surface so it will have less air bottles in the cake once it done ..just a good tip

Just made your pistaschio cake. It was a slam dunk! I tweaked it a bit per my kids' taste. For the heavy whipping cream in the wet mixture, I did 3/4 cup cream with the additional 1/4 being hazelnut coffee creamer. To amp up the nuttiness. And instead of lemon extract, I used almond extract. Got my lemon from the lemon zest, and a tablespoon of the juice. Which seemed to electrify the tang of the buttermilk. It was loved! I made the cake tonight with Duncan Hines classic yellow cake, to that I added lemon extract, lemon instant pudding and vanilla extract. Sister girl it is delicious . A surprise for my husband I can’t wait for him to taste it. The cake reminds me of my mother- in-laws lemon pound cake. We lost her 10 years ago. She would be proud. @@anaburuca8684 it’s not really a recipe. I used 2 Duncan Hines brownie boxes with one pouch of instant jello. I added a little more oil to account for the jello. The secret is putting them in the oven at a super low temperature and using the toothpick method to make sure it’s done.

No buttermilk? Simply add a little vinegar or lemon juice (acidity) to curdle milk = buttermilk

This is exactly what I use and my whole family and friends think that I make cake from scratch.. 😂 mind you, I always do the frosting from scratch and usually moist the cake with special homemade syrups made to same flavors to that of the cake or complimentary ones, like rum cake syrup

I baked it and used whole milk instead of buttermilk. I also used 1 stick of butter because that's all I had at the moment. Honey...when I say that this hack was a complete success. I mean it. It was soooo moist and delicious 😋

When I would bake box cakes I always used milk, butter and added extract. I have to try it with instant pudding mix and buttermilk. That cake looks 😋

Also if you want to make your own buttermilk you can use 2 cups of whole milk and 2 1/2 tbs of Lemon juice and let it sit for 10-15 minutes

I am brand new to your channel, which I just found. On my, that cake looked delicious. My mouth was literally watering when you cut it and I saw how beautiful it turned out. I've used the pudding mix hack in my cakes, but I never thought about changing the flavors with different extracts. Thanks for the tip! I just found a different type recipe on another channel for Peach Cobbler Cake, cut it was all from scratch, one of those that required numerous different items. If you have a recipe for a peach cobbler cake, using a boxed cake mix I would be grateful and appreciative for your recipe (if you have one). It was made in a bundt pan also. Hi lovie! I haven’t made many cakes lately because our social gatherings are so limited but maybe one just for me🥴…when I was a kid and one of five hungry kids, we always made cookies, cakes, et. We never had buttermilk because it cost more but my mother always had us mix 3/4th cup of mike with 1/4 cup of vinegar. It did the job every time! By the way, I agree with another viewer, you do have a lovey voice and a feel good laugh😘

Looking at that bundt pan reminds me of my great-grandmother making those cakes from scratch and using Duncan Hines I am about to cry this video bring back some beautiful memories of living in the Deep South
