Thanks Nicki! To those unfamiliar with the David Letterman show, they might not catch my drift. But it’s a risk I had to take. I did it for Dave! and Paul, but to a lesser extent.

Thanks, I was a huge fan of Dave’s show. I was hoping guys from that generation might dig it. Or mostly dig it. I appreciate your comment.

1. Find someone who actually likes being on the water. Bonus if they can sail. If they don't like being on the water at all, is there reason for a second date? Shoot. Maybe even invite them out when you know the wind will be ideal for an actual sail instead of a leisurely float. My favorite dates on the boat were: Gourmet meal double date plus games. This was done at the dock with a live aboard buddy and his girlfriend. Crabbing. Drop the pots, sail, come back. If you're lucky you have dinner when you get back. Sailing to an Inn/restaurant with a dock to tie up to. The overnight moorage for the place my friends and I go to includes access to the property as if you are renting a room. I love doing touristy things in my own back yard.

Hello Christina, it’s good to hear from you. I agree, a second date would be very questionable if they didn’t have a passion of some sort for sailing. One can tell from the very first step on a boat if their guest has experience. I’d rather them not look too surprised as the boat heels a bit. Finding good places to tie up and have a meal in my area is difficult. I’m always open to locals for suggestions. It’s a broil now in Texas. Hot and stormy. I’m looking forward to a cool front and some time on the hook. I’m starting to form up some ideas for my next video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Don’t let the first and last days of boat ownership be the best. Get the most out of your boat. I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks.

Using the head over the stern. Classic! She’ll have to perform a MOB maneuver and perform mouth to mouth. Right out of “Sandlot “

Yes, LOL, there’s stories of guys being found at water temperature, unzipped. It takes some talent at times to stay onboard. Pirates would tell you it’s bad luck, but still, nothing beats having a woman aboard.

I enjoy it! Can I get your opinion on a merit 25 ? I’ve never sailed a boat, but I can get a hold of that one for a really cheap with the trailer.
@smallsailboatbigwater39595 ай бұрын
Hello, glad you enjoyed the video. Now, here is my honest opinion of the Merit 25. I would skip it. From what I gather, the construction of the balsa core is hit or miss. Some of these boats are disintegrating, some are rocksolid, it’s a gamble. Its bolt on fin keel is known for being wobbly. A boat with a 4 foot draft would not be fun to load or trailer. If you liked this type of boat, I would go for the J 24 instead. But if it was me, I would go with something with a solid fiberglass hull and a modified fin keel. I’m afraid if you bought this boat, it could turn into a major headache and you might have a hard time getting rid of it.
