Oh my God Humanity became a memetic hazard on the level of Cthulhu. The Xeno leader recognized a very important piece of intelligence before going full invasion. What blasphemy is this?

hmm....thats open for debate though since , before there was any sentience in that universe ,none of it was being 'bent' so....the humans effects of understanding how physics works when not affected by psionics..ontop of having a grasp of it on itself it seems one could say they are not as much a memetic hazard... as something that is immune to a memetic hazard infection that became so wide spread so early that it became the norm for at least one galaxy worth of societies ,right ?

Story 1: This is the perfect explanation for an idea I had long ago: Fantasy land full of magic, and the arrogance that power brings. Then appears a human from our real world. Everywhere he goes, he nullifies all magic because he brings "reality". So dependent were they on magic that their muscles and reflexes had atrophied and were helpess against the moderately fit human. Peasants are free to vent their pent up rage for revenge against their rulers. If anyone wants to write this up, be my guest. I have no talent in writing good dialogue.

An anti-magic field is more dangerous to mages than a magic field is to muggles. "... product of incest." Lol. Dumbass would probably be proud of that! The admiral was smart enough to know not to attack with bad intel but dumb enough to run away at an obvious bluff. That makes him a genius as far as aliens go.

Ah, so thats why the orks in 40k are kinda dumb. If they understood statements like "color of paint is just lights of certain wavelengths reflecting off of a surface and in no way affects the inner mechanisms" then humans would probably have a new unit called the "questioneer" just to deal with orks.

Yeah I have always had a theory that humans universal rules/laws work because we believe that's how it works the way things should be.. and in the first store why don't the humans realize it's because they believe there are rules, that that rule is true.. gravity vacuum of space nuclear fusion and fission. Etc. Etc.
@mcarrowtime70952 жыл бұрын
I hope you’re joking/don’t actually believe your hypothesis about the rules only existing because we believe them to exist, because that argument has the structural integrity of wet paper. Same goes for how the humans rules in the story worked.

Story #1 reminds me of another r/HFY story where the aliens can shape reality as they like from this 'primordial plasma', until they happened upon the edge of the primordial plasma soup... they discovered that someone had formed a huge reality bubble, billions and trillions of light years wide ... and they with great effort managed to find us humans at the center. We created a huge reality merely by looking up to the sky/stars and think how everything works.

If we want to pursue this route, the reason why theirs so many rules is because we subconsciously want a lot of rules. We have a need for pattern finding to the point our eyes will play tricks on us, so we created a large amount of rules by deciding we don’t know everything, this can’t be all there is and need to know more.
