Man, I really wish you used the 7.2v makita drill. Milwaukee and metabo straight stole their design. But even better, out of my 50+ cordless power tools is the makita 7.2v IMPACT DRIVER!! It is the most amazing tool I’ve ever used and it’s really amazingly durable and if the brushes go out you just swap the whole motor super simple. It has a trigger on each side with variable speed. It’s seriously genius

Sorry in advance, this is gonna be a long one. -- Can we all just take two seconds to appreciate this man for the time and effort he puts into his videos? Yes, I'm sure he learns things from his own videos, but he has NO reason to go to such depth for HIMSELF. He takes NO sponsorships. ALL damage is out of his own pocket. All TIME is taken from his own responsibility. This man is single handedly taking on the mainstream commercial forum and is winning. Not only are the tests themselves higher quality than anything else on any platform, they're videoed, charted, and repeated on various test media. This man in his home has taken more prerogative than any billion dollar company has in testing their materials. A true hats off to you , sir. And many more years to come!

They're "lab conditions" or whatever probably, meaning you find a tool that performs above average, find the best possible test equipment and scenario, write down only the highest readout, then add 10% for good measure. There might be some truth to it (emphasis on might), but it sure as hell isn't practically meaningful. That's part of the beauty of these tests here, they're all pretty practical!

See, I find the opposite to be true. Because, for example, he shows a makita sander is better than a milwaukee, but also shows a milwaukee impact is better than a makita. And since each use different batteries, I have to compromise and go with the worse tool because I already have the batteries for it. So the tests become irrelevant as I end up sticking to one brand system.

@@Floortile83 It would be nice if a battery was a battery like the good old days. Make them a standard size.. like we had D, C, AA, etc, so we can buy one battery and use it in All of our tools and not have to be buying Brand specific batteries. Then you have 4 types of batteries and chargers all laying around cluttering up the shop. As long as all the tools are the same voltage, then make the battery pack size standard. Change the size for different voltages to avoid using the wrong chargers or the wrong batteries in the wrong tools.

The amount of dedication this guy has is incredible... If you just add up the times from the endurance test, you'll find that he spent 65 minutes of his life just sitting there spinning an old Milwaukee drill with some electric screwdriver. I use the DeWalt daily for work, and results of this test are in line with my experience. However I think you're right in saying the gyro drive takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you can really finely adjust drive speed in a way that no other screwdriver tested allows. I use this drill for tapping threads in plastic, assembling sensitive electronics, and much more. it's been one of my daily driver as far tools go, and definitely feel like it's worth the short learning curve

I'm in a similar boat, my work had full set of 10 Dewalt drivers that we had to get rid of because the gyro function was deemed an ergonomic risk. They were replaced with the milwaukee drivers because of the thumb switch. The milwaukee drivers are junk overall. The batteries will refuse to charge randomly, the thumb switches break quickly disabling the driver. the available torque and speed falls off after a month or two of use. overall they last about 1/3 as long as the Dewalt.

Rather just some faceless company sourcing a generic piece of crap dirt cheap, slap some branding on it, just for the sake of making a buck off people who don't know better, maybe buying somebody else a Christmas gift or what have you. Many feminists are pretty critical of this type of marketing, including brands using breast cancer awareness and it being unclear how they're actually supporting sometimes (as well as just issues with non profit organizations in general). Coloring a product pink and calling it feminism is exactly the sort of cheap, ineffectual BS that the women in my community actually out there making change cannot stand. But individuals and companies will co-opt and water down anything and everything and try to turn it into a commodity, same goes for gay pride and many other things. I know a builder that has nothing but pink tools. His excuse was 'Doesn't matter if it's crap, ever seen someone steal a pink tool? Even if they break it's a hell of a lot cheaper to replace.'

I don't think PF approves of anything, but he gives viewers the option to choose based on the results of his testing, which isn't exactly a recommendation, rather an open suggestion for us to choose for ourselves. A company would have to keep its words carefully because any one of us can go and see the tests being conducted for ourselves, rather than the old days of pretending that the market jargon of "independently tested" without context means anything.

@@classydays43 Exactly. Part of why everyone loves his videos is because he's unbiased. He doesn't usually give strong opinions outside of the casual "wow that did bad" or "wow that did better than expected" I love it because like you said, he gives us the info to go ahead and choose for ourselves. We can compare each brand/model to find out which one suits our needs best.

i know this is an old comment but if you want the best screwdriver for RC cars get the dewalt. been using one myself exclusively for RC cars for a while now and love it. they even have one with a clutch that wont strip out the tiniest of screws except for maybe 24th scale stuff. i use it for my b6.4, capra, kraton and lc12b1 and its perfect.
