Defo the real deal AND Aussie slang FTW So hey in addition to dodgy shoulder stuff (I laughed when you talked about Physio rubber band work - that’s exactly what I was given recently for infraspinatus supraspinatus etc.) i’ve developed inflammation of the coracobrachialis on both arms. Had no bloody idea what the thing even was but it runs along the inside of the arm and it gets a LOT of use when reaching i.e. paddling and it’s an absolute bastard to work out how to fix it. Hate to hit the well again when you’ve already been so generous but I wonder if you have clients with this issue or have experience something like that yourself? I spoke to my Physio and he literally blanks when I told him about it so I don’t have much hope of any joy there. Thanks man, as always love your work, much love from the Beaches dude 😎🤙🙏

I've seen coracobrachialis strains. may need to do some specific myofascial stretching, as there are also nerves that run through the muscle that could be getting impinged. need to ask why they're spasming, and what else isn't controlling the scapula. I definitely have some theories and interventions, but those would be the route of consultation, as we'd need to closely look at shoulder function, clavicular function, shoulder movement, pulling patterns, and then move into stability of the shoulder girdle, and very likely a specific myofascial stretching program, including coracobrachialis

Thanks for for no fancy bullshit for us no-longer-20-year-olds. 😂 I love your videos, especially shoulder stuff. I'm so glad you mentioned hanging.🤙

haha.. the one bit of genetics I'm stoked with. the hair. everyone asks about it, and you know the secret. get out of the shower and put a hat on. force it to slick back. later I just throw some type of hair paste / mud on it. that's it bro. the secret is out :)

Excellent - thanks Chris! I have a weird shoulder issue. Live remote - no chance for medical/physio/chiro assistance except every 6 mos when we return to Civ for a couple of weeks. So videos like this a very helpful.

Great advice and video as usual. Cheques in the mail . (I’ve bought a couple of your programs so this sort of a cheque) Now I have to build a hanging bar . . .
@SurfStrengthCoach Жыл бұрын
they sell pretty cheap yet sufficient pull up bars that hang in a framed doorway. 20-30$ I reckon and well worth it! thanks for the support dude

Any other exercises for shoulder stability? I’m prone to dislocations, even when paddling

Plenty! But situations such as yours require specificity and individualisation, so that’s the realm of a consultation. Can dive into all the details of injury history and what to do to move forwards

I definitely get it that the older you get the better you take care when training cz you don’t need to break up bits and pieces that keep you from surfing.

Priority 1 is assessment to determine what specific tissues and what’s the cause of irritating that tissue. Find a good practitioner or consult with me! Details for consultations are on surfstrengrhcoach.com

I had a little accident which resulted in a 'frozen shoulder'. When the inflamation was over i started little workouts and i have maximum mobility and 75% of strenght regained.. I just started surfing last year and you can imagine i am desperate to get back in the water. Should anyone read this, is it advisable to go surfing with issue..? Anybody who has any experience surfing with a frozen shoulder ?
