Agreed! For many years I was spending nearly $50/1.7oz facial moisturizer with spf 15 and have since switched to moisturizer with spf 30 at about $10/3oz...yay! Thank you to Andrea for the generosity of your time in making these videos; sharing your knowledge and passion for skincare; and for giving everyone a dose of reality in terms of ingredients, products, claims, and cost. You do a stellar job with reiterating the importance of sunscreen--melanoma is no joke (nor are wrinkles and spots)--and I'm more diligent about using sunscreen now. (I can't remember how I found the channel, but it may have been because of differin or retinoid use.) Best wishes to all for the new year!

I just picked up Zapzyt at Wal-Mart 1 oz tube for $4.47. My 13 year old son had blackheads on his nose. So we bought Differin and wil add the benzoyl peroxide. Don't mind the bleached sheets!

I found your channel by searching for Differin tips. This was three days ago......I have binge watched your videos for hours and hours over the past three days. You are my absolute favorite new KZbin channel. I find that you are such a breath of fresh air from my usual beauty gurus. I agree with others who commented, YOU are the best discovery of 2017 on the YT community. I found you through Beauty and the Bargain, because I was researching for retinoids and she recommended a website and also to watch your channel. I discovered CeraVe PM this year and repurchased it. I will purchase many more of the products you recommended, I have a list :). Thank you for your efforts and for finding the time to answer to us. I understand that as your channel will grow, it will be more difficult for you to keep up with us and I think none of us will expect it from you. I followed some beauty gurus for few years, since they were in their 100,000s and now they are over 3M, and YT was the only “job”they had and I have NEVER received a reply, to also long and very nice comments and suggestions. I think I just wasted my time, while others like me, we made them rich. I actually never seen her commenting or replying to anyone. I hope many people will subscribe to very useful channels like yours, because you are not only helpful, but you are one of the nicest and with a good sense of humor people on YT. I never cared about my skin when I was younger because it was absolutely perfect and I was lucky so I would sleep with my makeup on all the time and I didn't do much as far as extra skin care but I did always use moisturizer. I am paying for it now that I'm older because my pores have gotten a lot bigger and after having my son my skin definitely got a lot more sensitive and I have mild adult acne but I absolutely hate it! I can’t explain how thankful I am to have found you. I worked in the beauty department at Target and bought Differen gel because of a coworkers recommendation, but had no idea how to incorporate it into my routine, and that’s how I found your channel. I have had the longest journey with acne that started late in high school, and has now left me with horrible scars, texture, and pigmentation at almost 21 years old. I was on acutane in high school and it helped a lot, but I still struggle with the scaring, especially when all of my friends have beautiful 20 year old skin that’s radiant and clear. Anyways, I have always known that less is more and brands like cera ve and vanicream are where I need to stay, because that’s what my mom always taught me, but I have found myself time and time again getting sucked into the marketing gimmicks of so many new products, and I’m worried I’ve done more harm than good. Anyways, not sure why I typed all this out but I just wanted to say I appreciate your no nonsense approach and I will be coming back to you when I watch other youtubers that recommend an overwhelming amount of products!!! Happy New Year and wishing you and your mom all the best for 2018! Must agree with others here that the best beauty/skin care discovery in 2017 for me was your channel. Thanks to you I have simplified my skin care routine and have stepped up my sunscreen protection (Cerave AM w/ SPF 30). Like your mom, I also love the CeraVe Moisturizer in the tub. Indeed, L'Oréal is a giant corporate monster, and I hope they do not change the formula or down size the packaging. I've already noted an increase in price at my local pharmacy and most of the line has disappeared from the Canadian Walmart website. I think L'Oréal also owns La Roche-Posay. I have also been using tretinoin gel 0.1% for several years now. I still get flakes and peeling so I use it only every other night or so each week. I know how important sunscreen is when using tretinoin, but finding a good sunscreen that is not overly priced is very difficult here. In the summertime, I am able to find reasonably priced mineral sunscreen products at Winners (like your Marshalls), that do not leave a white film but they are never available in the winter time. Of course, there is always Neutrogena Hahaha. Attitudes need to change here, but I understand it is hard to do, especially when we are currently in grips of an arctic air mass. Right now the temp in Montreal is -33c (-27f) with the wind chill factor. Our local news station is warning people about the dangers of frostbite to exposed skin, not so much about sunscreen LOL. I just got the Biore sunscreen today after I saw your video. I love that amazon got it to me so quickly from Asia. I tried it immediately. Loooove how it feels in my skin. Writing this in 2019, but I am lucky enough to find great Japanese and Korean skin care products at my local Asian grocery stores. Jusgo and 99 Ranch Market are in Texas. I love the Sana Hadanomy Collagen deep cream. It feels light like a gel moisturizer, and contains hyaluronic acid. It does have fragrance but it’s light and doesn’t bother my sensitive skin.

Just wanted to say thank you. I have dealt with acne for many years and now the past few years have had basal cell and dysplastic spots removed. I started using Retin A and it helped considerably but dried my skin. I tried many,many products and have been using a $$$ moisturizer and C serum. After finding your channel, I am now using with great success Cerave AM and PM, Hada Labo HA gel, Elta MD sunscreen and Vanicream SPF lip. I can buy a years supply of these products for less than the cost of the moisturizer I was using! And...the results are considerably improved. I enjoy watching all of your videos. First off...Happy New Year and best wishes of success and happiness to you! My comment is completely unrelated to this current video, but I have to express my thanks and gratitude to you. (And, note that your research on the influence of social media and medical advice is working. I’m a example of your study/research 😊) Long story short, two small patches of redness appeared on both sides of my chin about 2 months ago. I wasn’t sure if it was eczema or if I had damaged my skin/moisture barrier. I am still unsure of the cause, but I believe it was a mix of stress, unhealthy diet and the use of a glycolic acid 7% toner that I was using. I had been following you already, but came across your video on Perioral Dermatitis and was intrigued. While my case was not as severe as some cases of PD, I had a feeling that this was what I had. After riding it out for 2 months and no relief, I finally made an appointment with my PCP on 12/21 and they were luckily able to get me in with a dermatologist. I had tried on my own, but couldn’t get an appointment until April! I went to Penn State Hershey Medical Center and met with a resident, following up with her attending. Explaining to her that I believed that I had PD ( I mentioned my extensive research and watching your video.) She was quite impressed with my diagnosis and confirmed my suspicions! I am now following a plan of Metronidazole .75% topical and a month of Doxycycline 100 mg. I am avoiding makeup and sticking with Cetaphil gentle cleanser as well as their night cream. The only main skin care item that I’m still using is Acwell’s 5.5 ph toner with licorice root extract, which has calmed redness and moisturized my skin in the harsh Pennsylvania weather. I was very lucky to have watched your video and avoid any steroid based topicals on my skin. My case of PD is mild - no blistering or major bumps or spreading - but if I hadn’t came across your video, I might have been in worse shape. Thank you again! You are truly helping your followers! I wish much success to you! Everyone needs to get to know you and your amazing expertise in health and dermatology! If I weren’t so far away, I would be trying to make an appointment with you!

Thanks for this video! I live in Canada and a lot of the products you buy in the drugstores in the USA are not available here (Differin, Eucerin redness relief line, zapzyt, etc). Your videos are so informative! My favorite has been the Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid. At first I hated the tackiness, but once you give it a chance to absorb into your skin, your skin is plump and hydrated. Great video!

So glad I found this channel! My goals for 2018 are to not spend nearly as much on skincare as I did in Dec 2017 and to wear sunscreen daily. I've spent my life playing, swimming, running, and tanning outside in the Florida sun (literally sunrise to sunset during my summers as a youthling), and now my skin is starting to tell tales of my stupidity. New Subscriber, but 74 years young with dry skin that has tried many products. Love the fact your a dermatologist love Other You Tubers who voice what works for them but are winging it on their preferences, which I’ve tried. It seems like your not into recommending products like almond oil, manuka, etc. hoping to find something on The Aging Skin. Using L’Oréal Collagen and Neutogena Hydro Boost and any thoughts on goat milk soaps or wipes. Soooo many products....so much hype...but thank you for sorting things out

Elta MD has been my favorite sunscreen/tinted moisturizer line for 3 years now. I have sensitive combo skin and their tinted moisturizer SPF 41 is the only one that my skin will tolerate after a chemical peel. I love it! A 3 oz tube lasts me 6 good months with everyday use. Dr. Dray! I literally just came back to the comment section of this video to tell you how awesome the new(er) Cerave Skin Renewing Day Cream with SPF 30 is. It's new to me and I've been using it for a few weeks, and it is absolutely amazing. Does not pill, allows my makeup to apply smoothly over it, does not leave a cast, and is very, very non-greasy. In fact, it's almost not moisturizing enough for my dry skin, but I think oily people would find this holy grail status. It is seriously awesome and I know you are all about that sunscreen life so I thought I'd tell you about my experiences with it.
