Good video David, i used V1 through a MTM Lance at 50ml to 450ml of water today on my wife's car. Dwell time was excellent with a lovely creamy consistency and super cleaning power. I will eventually buy V2 but have to use 5L of BH Autofoam & V1 first. I won't be buying Autofoam again though. Keep up the good work, very interesting videos.
@DavidMcBay2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Alan, in all honesty I had no issues with V1. It seemed to be a product where if you understand how to use it then it works as it should I just think it wasn’t very comparable with the MJJC lance. You’ll need to let me know how you get on with V2 once you get it.
@alantaylor22 жыл бұрын
@@DavidMcBay Be a long time David until i have to re-order any snow foam but i deffo won't be ordering any more BH Autofoam. I've never had any problems with V1 but i hardly ever use my MJJC cos i don't really like it much. I do like the wide bottle opening & weighted pick up tube but that's it & spares are almost impossible to obtain in the UK. The MTM Lance is far superior in build & product delivery.

Brilliant to directly compare V1 with V2 on dwell time... more interesting to see the foam appearing to change colour quicker with the KDN than MJJC which suggests it's working quicker than the drier foam to emulsify the dirt. 🤔... Still have litres of V1 but bought 5ltr V2 on release because I had the confidence from also prototyping it to know it would be better if not the best foam available 😉
@DavidMcBay2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jon, I had seen a few people mention the thickness and dwell of V1 compared to V2 and thought to myself, I’ve never got more than 5-6 minutes out of V1 so I’m glad I done the test. Being honest, I moved away from using the mjjc lance a while ago as I did feel the thicker drier foam was hampering the performance of a few of the foams I have.

@Tim955w2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, very interesting review thanks. Regarding your future test of GT V2 vs BH snow foam the latest touch less version has a slightly longer dwell time than the first version (according to BH). If you test these it would be useful to know what version you have. In addition if you have any opinion on how these compare through something like a IK sprayer that would also be very interesting (my prefered method in the winter months). Cheers for the informative content.

Dwell time is pointless if the car is still dirty after and is why I’ll be sticking with Bilt Hamber. You also don’t have foam still on the drive or under the bonnet etc with Bilt Hamber, rinses much better.
@DavidMcBay2 жыл бұрын
I have bilt hamber sitting in the garage, it’s normally my goto for winter when i just want to get out and get the car clean. I’ll be doing a comparison between these 2 at some point as I do think they have similar cleaning levels. On Dwell time it depends what your looking for and what your process is, for example if it’s a very dirty car you might want to use a tfr or citrus then put a long dwelling foam over the top to prevent the chemicals drying out.
@LSD042 жыл бұрын
@@DavidMcBay this is the thing really isn’t it “your process “ we all have things or ways we prefer to go about cleaning our cars as it’s about enjoying what you’re doing, I’ve come to the point after trying many prewashes that I’d rather just adjust the PIR of BH, unless something catches my eye 😂👍🏻
@alantaylor22 жыл бұрын
@@DavidMcBay I agree David, Bill Hamber to me is not an option during the warmer times on a dark coloured car. It dries out far to quickly & can leave hard to remove residue. I agree it cleans well but so does GT & i don't have to leave big containers of snow foam lying around because you have to use so much. Everybody has their preferences but i would say to anyone that you need a top class foam lance to get good results with any product, i have 4 & MTM is by far the best.
@DavidMcBay2 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly it, everyone does things differently and it’s all about enjoying the process what works for you. It’ll be interesting to see how it compares to BH, do you still use auto foam or have you moved on to touch less?

Hi mate, I do have auto foam aswell but I’m yet to test them against each other so it’s hard to say which is better. I did try quite a few versions of the V2 of the GT foam and I think they have it to a good point where cleaning power based on the amount of product is very good, as you would have seen from the video. Testing them side by side is on the agenda but I really do think they are very similar products but the GT seems to require a bit less product to get similar cleaning abilities.
