BEST SoD P2 Warlock PvP Spec - Soul Link+Haunt RAID BOSS

As a former R1 lock i have found the best spec to be nightfall, 3 points in Demonic Embrace, then Shadowburn. I also use this spec too solo farm SM Cath to make bags of gold! I use haunt, Master Channel, Synergy, Dem know, and Demonic Grace. Demonic Grace is slept on but pop it when u get a nightfall proc (which is alot thanks too MastChan) then Sbolt Sburn and one normaly crits for nice burst while they are already rotting! The problem with SL atm is u lack dmg, in your fight with the rogue u were even using the new dot grenade lol. SL is 30% which means basicly 300 hps for ever 1000 u have and honestly if you have enough stamina with drain life and haunt you'll be fine. Plus casting faster Shadow Bolts and Immolate is always nice and u have instant corruption and atleast two points in suppresion so ur aff spells never get resisted in pvp! With what you're running if your drain life is resisted or dispelled then you only have agony up. Plus in group pvp like Blood Moon event i see alot of problems and if ur pet gets banished then u have no SL and no dmg. Love seeing other locks pvp tho and not trying to put you down, some people may be dieing too much and SL could help but you give up alot too. Anyway good luck to ya, you got a like from me

I've tested both. They both have pros and Cons. I found night/fall to be a little too mana intensive for PVP. Shadow Burn was great, but with the haunt GCD along with all your other isntant dots is rough too. You have to tap a lot to get the mana to use it. You also die incredibly fast in that spec too. The Soul Link spec is by far the best 1v1 tho. Your spec is by far the best Solo spec for farming. Hands down.

I do full affliction with the same rune set up. A lucky nightfall proc can get you some nice burst while you just have so much sustain. Good curse usage, like curse of exhaustion on melee or fleeing targets, has been useful in this build. I also run minor move speed on boots.

I have a question, why do you play felhunter instead of the voidwalker? my guess is for the lacke of dps the spec currently has. Personally i would choose demonic grace and spam searing pain. i'm returning to wow after 1 month out so i don't know too much about the current meta.

I actually play the same spec in PvP (except for STV-event). It’s so nice! Only difference is that I play int on pets instead of your VW points (mostly use Felhunter anyway). I’ve been wondering why so few others do it as well, but especially why so many play Meta. Haunt is so strong and Meta just opens up for you to be banished like a MC trash. First thing I do all group fights in AB etc - Banish lock, bb

Great in theory and I appreciate the video. I really do like the build, it's fun and technical, but I've tried this build several times and in BGs and vs 1-3, yes you are good, but most of the time you are NOT being attacked by 1-3 players but closer to 4+ and alot of players know to off the fel hunter to gimp your soul link. Not feasible in STV event either but this could be good in open world. Next phase I can see it doing better and I will keep trying to make it work though! thanks!

pretty self explanatory, keybind ur felhunters abilities so u can use them manually at will, curse of agony, haunt, drain life i think hes wanding in between while his pet was attacking, also can incinerate/immolate if u can get it off

I'm curios why you use Agony before Haunt? You delay the haunt heal and dont get the 20% bonus damage on Agony. Makes sense vs rogues in case of Vanish but wouldn't haunt first vs anyone else be better? Liked the comment about next phase being good for lock. A lot of people seem to have forgotten warlock is one of the worst 1v1 classes in the game in classic... Before they get Death Coil that is...

You do get the 20% bonus on agony. Only drains (siphon life and drain life) need to be applied after haunt. Dots can be applied at any time.

​@@olorine4683way better, succubus doesn't have the HP or resists to be used with SL and seduce isn't very useful since you can tank people anyway. Felhunter has high base hp and high spell resists, gives you 40 resist all and has devour magic and spell lock, the two best pet abilities.

So i played this for some time now and it is great. The only things is: the soulink buff can be purged / dispelled. So a 31 point talent is gone by just 1 click of the enemy. WTF Blizzard!

It can't be purged. If it drops it's because your pet died. Sometimes your pet dies right as you do in a bg, then it gets ressed without soul link or grrimoire and you need to reapply them.

Haunt is a nuke for 350+ which increases the damage of curse of agony and drain life by 20%. This is significantly more damage than spamming searing pain with no destro talents for 150. Anyone who plays Meta does so because they are not good at the game and know it, so locking themselves out of absolutely mandatory abilities like fear is a good thing for them bc they don't use it anyway. I would kill you 100-0 with full hp remaining.

Dude searing pain make like 220 + hits every gcd..So it way more dmg than haunt 300dmg 12sec cd. and this miserable dmg on dots 20%..And dont get me wrong i play meta/destro or meta/sl cos thats the only way u play warlock eficiently.I prefer more dmg and survive than fear.And u cant beat me 100 on 0 cos i just simpli dispel your drain and u lose every match.Just stop show stupid videos how strong warlock is wen beating nobs.Warlock atm is garbage in pvp like phase 1 and need tons of bufs.

You are already playing incinerate. Drop Haunt and grab Chaosbolt instead and delete people while still being tanky enough. It has the advantage that instead of standing there trying to wand you do the same while trying to get fire casts out, and if they think they have to lock you out on that, you will then have free fear casts that do not get interrupted unless the other player still has stuns left. I understand the appeal of haunt, but Chaosbolt and incinerate are too strong to not be picked up even if you lack the ruin talent. Also, pick shadowflame aswell, it is another instant dot you can apply without having to spec into instant corruption. The extra dmg from demonic knowledge is not too bad but it is offset by shadowflame damage easily at this stage.

Other casters and destro warlocks can, why can't you? Shadowflame is 130+ damage depending on spellpower you got. demonic knowledge gives 30-35 damage bonus. You use agony, drain life and haunt 90% of the time, rarely you cast incinerate or immolate. so focusing on your main spells that damage bonus gives you 100% of the 30-35 for each dot, 40% coefficient for haunt, which is around 15 in total per haunt. both dots and one haunt add up to 75-85 damage. That is less than the base damage of shadowflame (around 100) for one target without any spellpower bonus to it. I am not trying to cook you off, I am giving you a different option to play the spec. It is riskier to play with more casttime but also ppl will have to kick your fire spells if they want to survive, which means most classes won't be able to prevent the fear that you use when they kick fire school. The quicker you kill ppl in 1vx the less health you loose while waiting on dots to slowly take them down. Also, the moment a competent healer enters the picture, you are not killing anyone with your current spec. And you know it even if you probably don't want to admit it.

The difference is 5 seconds of drain life or about 600hp healing and 300 damage to him. Given that I ended the fight at 3000hp its very unlikely to assume he would have killed me otherwise. One cheap shot isn't 3000 damage of difference. I don't even need to trinket kidney shot to beat rogues and that's with a felhunter out.

Yes, ive played classic warlock for many years. Ive done rank 13 twice, rank 10 4 times over the last decade. You've described very low level lock game play with your example. Previously warlock has had a much higher skill cap than what it does now. Warlock had some of the best on-demand nuke capabilities of any class in the game. This combined with their fantastic utility and ability to crowd control made them the corner stone of the wsg meta. Just look at perplexity and UHD in WSG. At present warlocks haven't received the level of class defining runes that other classes have e.g shadow priest which has left them kind mid and boring to play. Hopefully this changes moving forward. If you enjoy 'out playing' people with 2 buttons and a 31 point talent, all the best to you. Personally id rather watch paint dry. @@Factionsz

"Utility and ability to crowd control" - ALL OF THAT (which is just fear, curse of tongues, and felhunter) IS HERE! And it certainly didn't have "the best on demand nuke capabilities in the game", it had shadowbolt, shadowburn, soulfire and conflag, that's it, and absolutely no way to enable any of them aside from seduce spam, which was (and still is) totally unviable the second you get attacked by more than one player. The classic Warlock PvP spec for solo and group unless you're just messing around and roleplaying Drakedog was also soul link, and it didn't have meaningfully more than what this spec has (corruption+coa vs coa+drain life+haunt).
