Because that's a limiting factor for me so far, regarding a purchase, especially as I live on an Aegean island
@TomsJurjaks9 ай бұрын
Hey Michalis, thanks for the nice comment. So I live in Algarve where it’s constantly hot. I’ve used about 6 different Sony cameras in the last 2 years here and never even has a warning of camera overheating. Honestly I think it’s a myth. Just set the threshold to high and you will be good to go.

@@TomsJurjaks I also Own a ZV E10 and I am looking to upgrade, I was looking at A6700 and FX30. I would like to get the A6700 and I am hesitant regarding the overheating. I would use 4k60 and 4K30, lower bitrate to save on drive space. From what you say it might be ok, do you think it matters if you choose lower bitrate vs higher for overheating? Thank you very much for the video, really well done!
@TomsJurjaks5 ай бұрын
I can certainly tell you - go with the a6700. Just last week I was filming with my buddy with 4K60 and he accidentally changed the cameras setting to 600mbits and I stuffed my 128GB Sd card in less than an hour. It was mad hot outside, like more than 30C. The camera was hotter than usually but no warnings or shutdowns. Amazing performance

@@laughingthrushmusic5269 4K24 is definitely not a problem. The craziest was shooting 4K60 with 600mbit/s for like an hour with short breaks to change the scenes. Yes camera was hot, obviously, outside was really hot and in settings, temp was also set to high, but it did not overheat.

Well - NTSC is not because of frame rates. It depends on the region of usage. And sometmies it's related to frequency of moinotrs and bulbs.

Very correct, however I have set all my cameras to NTSC to unlock "more frames" even though in Europe we are supposed to use PAL. Sometimes there is a bit of flicker, but its manageable.

Thank you so much. Can you help me with this question. We copied all of your suggestions to the A6700 camera. Now we are recording some footage in Thailand and next week in the Philippines. When we look back on the footage from Thailand all the shots that were created in daylight are almost completely white (24fps 1/50) when we increase the shutter speed the scenery will appear. And when recording in night the artificial lights are flickering, so the whole image is flickering as well. Can you help with a solution?
@TomsJurjaks3 ай бұрын
Sure - you must have forgotten to use a VND (Variable ND Filter) - basically sunglasses for the camera. Its a must in a daytime. Regarding flickering, there is an anti-flicker function in A6700 but not sure how well it works. Other solution is to change your shutter speed (increase by double) but thats not ideal at night. Last resort is to change from PAL to NTSC or vice versa (depending on the country), But be aware - doing it will FORMAT your SD card

Yup I got you. Means you shot on a format your computer / program can’t process. If you used XAVC HS (I think it’s the 2nd one) that’s an h.265 format. Not all programs can run/render that. So switch to either of the other ones and you should be good.
@LoftyOriginal5 ай бұрын
Heya, love the video 👍 Just wanted to comment on your interpretations of the 180 degree rule. The 180 degree rule is not related to the cameras shutter speed or shutter angle (although on a film camera you’d typically set the shutter angle at 180 degrees) but related to two characters or a character and an object. I’m sure you know this better than I do but if a character within your film is engaged with another character or object it is important that the scene (with exception) is filmed from the same side as it started, essentially don’t cross over the actors shoulders, stay on one side of them (ideally shadow side ;). and all will be good. There are many examples of this rule being broken and working well but it has a habit of causing confusion in the audience on positioning within the scene, so stick to the 180 degree rule and have fun filming :)
@TomsJurjaks5 ай бұрын
Hey there, thanks a lot! And you are 100% right. What you just explained is exactly that - The 180 degree rule and you are also completely right that I was referring to the 180° shutter angle rule which I conveniently shortened to more confusing term of 180° rule 😀 My bad. Thanks for pointing that out though, because I actually googled and see that someone trying to learn more about it might got confused.

So thank you for your comment, I did my research and hope it wont confuse anyone.
