After messing with EQ I found below to be the best overall by far 400hz. 0db 1khz. +1db 2.5khz. +2db 6.3khz. +6db 16khz. +6db Clear bass. +6 Mainly listening to core/djent/prog metal, some late 90s early 2000s liquid jungle drum and bass, as well as PC gaming from sennheiser bt via TOSLink As a baseline I used the treble boost preset and boosted the clear bass, but found the higher end needed a boost, but too much 16khz had a negative effect on sibilants I use "hd AAC" with DSEE on, LDAC connectivity isn't nearly robust enough to even play music reliably for seconds without cutting out

I did the following tweak based on your very useful personal eq. I did +3, +8, 0, +8, +5 with clear bass at +8. Thank you 🙏🏾 very much!!! Also, I used this for the WF C510’s as the vocals and overall loudness is very recessed. I will use your eq exactly as you have it for my over ear WH1000XM4’s as they are too loud and boomy. Aaron, I believe you said you set your clear bass to +4, I think I will set my over ears to +5 as that seems to be the sweet spot for me. Thanks 🙏🏾.

For me, the default settings are fine. So much better than the xm4s. One thing I do notice is that there seems to be no difference in noise suppression between off and noise canceling settings. Did you notice that also? I have a tight fit so that is not an issue.

i am not sure if it is just me. I first bought the WF 1000 XM3. Some times after the XM4 came out the left ear battery drains way too fast. I use for less tahn an hour and it shots down. now the XM5 came out i have the same issue with my XM4. Always the left ear battery that drains way fast. At around 50% volum i get from 100% to dead in around less than 2 hours of playback. The right ear still have plenty of battery but like my XM3 i am not able to use individualy. I AM A BIT DISSAPOINTED BY THAT. For such expensive device what can explain this issue?

Love your settings for XM5. I used those while traveling. However for me +4 for the bass is too much. In songs like David Greys Babylon and Leonard Cohens Tower of Song +4 makes too much boom from Leonard’s voice and bass on start of Babylon. For me +3 is the absolute maximum I personally can go.

I've owned the XM4 and I never really liked its overall EQ. I listen to lots of rock and metal music and there's something I don't like in the lower mids of the XM4 that makes everything sound muddy and muffled. I also tried the app's new "find EQ" feature and I always end up with the "clear bass" preset. But at the end, I prefer the sound of my Jabra Elite 7 Pro. I watched your video of the new XM5s and how their EQ compares to the XM4s and I was disappointed that they basically didn't change the EQ at all. Most users who like the sound of the XM4 are probably happy about that.

My only disappointment is that i wish they had more bass at higher volume as the bass seems to slowly fade away from mid range volume and only decreases as you go up in volume ive tryed tweaking it throughout the app aswell. Otherwise amazing ear buds tho

Hi. Guys I'm having connection issues with my headset ever since I got them out of the box. Sound is always skipping and most times the right earbud is silent and sound cuts off. Even at home! Had this problem with my XM4 using a Oppo Flip. Very slight interruption while using my Nothing Phone 2 but the XM5 is acting very crazy.

Your settings are a bit too boomy for me. Anything above +1 bass is too much, but I enjoy bright headphones. I am using the "Treble boost" as a starting point, and I'm experimenting from there (reducing). Bass is max +1 for me. The rest: 0, +5, +5, +7, +8.

I own wf-1000xm3 earbuds and i have noticed since last update one of the earbuds (Left) drains battery extremely fast . I bought them in December 2020 and i did never upgrade them ... Case is 100% , Right earbud 100% but left one drops dramatically after a few minutes fully charged witn ANC Off...So i bought the 1MORE EVO ...I still want to know what happened to the Sonys and what can i do thinking it would be silly to buy them again

Thanks Aaron, I made this as Custom 2 and sounds good. Q is why when toggling to EQ Off, the Off setting always feel to my ears a sudden "bump up" in sound and possibly even better without EQ. Is this an observed issue?
