A tip for anyone watching.. my dog had a UTI and was peeing in my home when I wasn't home. I could not get rid of the smell. Finally, I used vinegar and baking soda. I used the baking soda to detect where the pee was because it would turn yellow where my dog peed. I would let it sit overnight with a small amount of vinegar on it. And I used vinegar to counteract the smell. After spraying the carpet with a light amount of vinegar and water mix, I shampooed the carpet. It worked amazingly!! It completely removed the smell!

A good tip my old detailing boss taught me is the more you saturate the stain, the further you push the stain down into the fabric and make it harder to pull out. Start drier and progress as the stain comes out.

agreed. Came here to buy a spot cleaner, and it's cool to see a top 1, 3, or 5 options.. but it would be Really nice to know why #1 is so vs #2 or 3, etc based on the criteria. Because if it's a tight race and one ends up winning #1 because it is cheaper and a better 'value' that's fine, but if I'm just out to buy the best spot cleaner regardless of price or if I can get a good deal on #2 or #3 for example to where that 'value' advantage isn't the case, it'd be a shame to ignorantly not get the best thing for my use-case just because I blindly followed the overall recommendation here. Having an 'objective' scoring system is great, but with so many variables impacting the score, it'd be great for consumers if they knew those variables and could weight things themselves to get their own personal use-case #1

I had a Bissell Little Green Pro. The hose cracked after extensive use. Bissell says they can't replace it because the hose is integrated to the machine body. This seems to be a common issue with these portable spot cleaners. Gets frustrating when they say they can't do anything about it.
@user-rd6gj4in7n6 ай бұрын
I read about this issue right before buying the Little Green Pro and decided to buy the extended warranty just in case. I made a habit to always clean the machine after each use. Surprisingly the hose cracked and here I am without a vacuum (but at least I got all my money back). I'm surprised none of these companies advertise replaceable hoses and even more surprised there isn't a portable, corded, non-hose spot cleaner. Mildly frustrating to say the least haha.

Just found this video during my research. I want to add that base off the Amazon reviews the Kenmore doesn't seem to be built well and there has been break downs in the suction circuit/loop and the tank itself. I'm going to go with the Shark base on the brand's reputation and history. I would've love to see a little more info on the top five either as a comparison between them or highlights.

I owned the Bissell Spot Clean Pro, even though both of the Bissell's finished well in the test and I did enjoy my machine, it's hard to recommend it because they are notorious for the hoses cracking/tearing. Mine lasted 2 years EXACTLY when the hose became torn near the wand. Bissell doesn't sell replacements unfortunately so now of course it's just a paperweight.

For urine use something that has an enzyme in it like nature's miracle(sold in pet stores and on line)for smells. It has to sit so it can break down the bacteria that causes the odor. I also use a product called Folex that is great on stains. I've gotten cherry ice out of beige carpet with it. It's also great for clothing, especially kids with stains.

Missing: Max water temp! Kenmore is max 104F (40C) but Bissell SpotClean is 140 F (60C)! I plan to put hot water in a vac thermos and then only put what I need in the Bissell so that I have hot water all of the time. I would really like to be even hotter to kill bacteria and was hoping that the hydrosteam would do that but now think that simply spraying a little steam on the surface won't help much, it won't be hot long enough to do anything and won't penetrate. Plus, a lot of customer reviews say that it's not very hot, some say cold, so not a good trade-off for a lower suction machine. It's annoying that Bissell can't make one machine with all of the best features. Instead a lot of different ones at about the same price. Add steam and a swivel head but take away volume and suction. :(

After watching this video, we just purchased a Bissell little green pro. It works great! However, after cleaning a few spots around the house it has reviled how dirty our carpet was everywhere else, and our need for a traditional upright carpet cleaner. I went back and watched the Best Bissell Carpet Cleaners 2023 video, and feel fairly well informed. My question is: if we get one of these, would it also do the spot cleaning job just as well as the little green pro. I know it will be heavier and more cumbersome, and don’t mind those drawbacks as long as the performance (suction at the wand, etc.) is the same.

4:21 word of caution…that 12% peroxide is VERY corrosive to your skin. If you’ve ever left 3% peroxide on your skin for a few mins you’ll find that it starts to burn and turn your skin white….the 12% stuff is 4 times as concentrated and will cause a stronger reaction when left on the skin. It’s also very good at breaking down other biological materials so it works well when poured down shower/bathtub drains. You’ll notice a violent foaming reaction and what looks like water vapor off gassing from the drain - this is normal. Please use caution and wear gloves when handling.

I found that Odo-ban at a 2x the recommended dilution with even just a towel & stomp gets both the smell & color stain out better than resolve. ( i have a senile 13 y/o med sized dog - so a decent sized bladder) & that if i use odo-ban & the bissell little green it gets nearly all of the small & stain. you must let it sit - i found that is a big key step. I'd be interested to see if it's just pulling surface stain or all the stain.

Those listed the rankings for everything being tested. However I feel this video and some other recent videos glaze over the results, in fact in this video the results were not really ever presented. Important results and stats were not clearly shown here such as: Weight Tank capacity Suction power Noise level Maintainenance/clear dirty tank Etc etc I understand that each product line has different metrics and is a ton of work to present, but if the data is not public and is not shared here for key metrics to help decision making I feel the top 3 lineup here did not really help make any decision. I don't know what the top 3 are even best at... all that was stated is just that 2 are new, 1 has more reviews, and the winner is 'impressive, has ergonomic tank' paraphrasing but please provide more details for future videos

Out of curiosity, did you use ever nature's miracle urine remover? I personally love it, but have only used it as an odor eliminator since I haven't had staining issues so I'm curious if it would remove staining. It's an enzyme based formula so it already breaks down the proteins that cause a urine smell, something extremely important when you're trying to break habits for pets.
