Don't forget that hunger pains is really a body being thirsty so if you drink water or green tea or lemon water you'll feel amazing forget that you thought you were hungry and can go on for another one to three hours. Also hunger pains are our body burning fat and healing because we don't have food to digest

I’m 61. I have been eating keto OMAD since January 2022. I’ve lost 50 pounds, stopped taking 7 medications and have had the best blood test results in my life. I have two strategies for hunger pangs. Strategy 1. I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning and I make an Electrolyte Slushy around noon (Slushy recipe - grind one lime with 12 fl oz of water in blender. Strain lime pulp. Add lime infused water back in blender. Add 12 fl oz of ice, one scoop of DrBerg electrolyte powder, one tablespoon of MCT oil (i used to get DrBerg’s but it’s out of stock) and I add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. I blend for 20 seconds…delicious) This satiates my appetite. Strategy 2. I only allow Keto foods in my house. If I get a craving, I have to get in my car and drive to the store. This works 80% of the time when I do get a craving.

I was amazed that after only a handful of days my appetite dropped significantly. By day 4 I stopped eating breakfast.....I was not hungry. Then day 5 I stopped the "bulletproof" coffee (couldn't choke it down any longer) and wasn't hungry until late morning. By day 5 I was eating at 5 pm and not eating again until about 10 the following day. There were no hunger pains and I just kept busy so I didn't get into the "I'm bored, lets eat" mode. On Keto now 9 days, it appears I'm doing IF as well and down 9 pounds. I do get sugar cravings but stave them off with black coffee. Thank you Dr. Berg!

Hey, Dr.Berg I’ve started a serious disciplined Keto diet with 12-16 hour fasts, I only start my morning with black coffee and water with sea salt, I wait until 6pm to cook my meal of just ground beef, pickled jalapeños, fresh minced garlic, aged Gouda cheese and organic butter I eat that, and maybe a few strips of bacon and I fill my water bottle back up, with sea salt and some apple cider vinegar and cinnamon so it’s by my bedside table in so I stay hydrated before I sleep and for when I wake up, take a cold shower and restart already seeing major progress in 3 weeks I forgot to add on top of that I go to the gym and do at least 30-45 minutes of hi intensity work outs! I take those reishi, lions mane, turkey tail mushrooms too they worked amazing on me, you are truly an amazing person for pointing us in the right direction

i was in quite a bad shape, after losing means of primary income i was trashy and moody daily, was borderline overweight. tried very hard to persevere and work to put food on table but to no avail my body is just not having it, after each meal i was so tired and sleepy to the point that i need to sleep or nap and the cycle keeps on repeating. until i started to research my symptoms, and came across this Dr Berg and others regarding keto & intermittent fasting and the dangers of sugar addiction in food and processed foods. This was like a lightbulb moment and everything started to click. It really made me reflect on myself i always have bad sleep and sleep apnea. and was snacking all my way to midnight or right before sleep. I realized i needed to make a change to be able to function properly and dive right into it nearly cold turkey i should say as i was completely fed up with the state i was in. for the first week i change my snacking to more healthy alternatives for eg instead of taking biscuits, bread etc in the midnight, i change it to a healthy alternative like a cheese omelet or boiled eggs ( need to fill myself so i would not have cravings). i completely cut out sugary drinks / deserts / flour / rice and force myself to take salad during the day , not a vegetable lover for the whole part of my life . greens feel disgusting to me without a bunch of dressing to cover it, the way i do it was to change the dressing to something like olive oil and Vinaigrette Dressing to cover the taste of greens. first week was hard, i had cravings for fast foods, ramen, ice cream, rice, noodles, pasta, breads etc. i just stayed the course and stuff myself with vege salads, eggs and bacon (less salty type) . i was able to stay the course as i was completely fed up with the sorry state i'm in. things started to improve dramatically after the first week. in fact on the first few days without eating much processed foods, i noticed the feeling of paralysis after a meal has become slightly weaker and wearing off. fast forward 3 months today, i'm doing intermittent fasting together with a very low carb high fat diet. i've dropped around 10-12kg in weight, all cravings gone and i'm able to function by just having 2 meals daily. Mood improve significantly i'm i 'm still working towards restoring my income but without the feeling of helplessness and i feel much more positive. Its really a life changing experience

I have been on Keto for 4 years now. As I do it from time to time, I came back to eating carbohydrates for some time last Christmas, just because Christmas is the time for eating :) and it seemed to make it easier when invited for eating. I got into a huge wave of cravings and overeating, which I have not had since I started Keto. It was hard to get back on the Keto track. It took me weeks until everything was like before but I really learned from it that it just isn't worth it. Next Christmas I rather won't eat anything if there isn't something I can eat and stay in ketosis.

I've been doing an imperfect version of keto & IF for almost a year. Through lots of trial & error, I have lost 125 lbs in 51 weeks. Basically, I do the best I can to follow your recommendations, and don't beat myself up when I slip. It's too much stress to agonize over yesterday's downfall...just get back on track asap. But with lymphocytic colitis due to a cholecystectomy 27 yrs ago, I've been advised by gastro doc to avoid high fiber, especially nuts and raw veggies. Also take warfarin daily, so need to limit my consumption of greens, tomatoes, etc. I still want to drop another 100 lbs, and I'm determined to make it happen. All these helpful nutritional videos, in your calm, reassuring voice make it a lot easier to focus on becoming my best self.

I eat raw eggs all the time. They are quick and easy to consume. If you are worried about safety, then wash them with soap and water, rinse, and place them in a glass or bowl of water. If they float, then throw them away. I've checked hundreds of eggs and I only had one float on me. I threw that one out. I've been eating raw eggs Rocky style since the 1970s and never had a problem.

I never thought I could fast or ever do OMAD. Actually wasn't hard at all. I do OMAD, eating usually from 6-8 pm only. No snacks but if I must a piece of cheese or meat stick. No oils, grains pasta, breads. I feel so much better but still having hard time getting my blood sugar down. Seldom in ketosis highest ever 0.5 a few times. Going to extend my fasting to 2 days a week, Sunday and Wednesday. Thanks Dr Berg for all your information and help

Fasting for a few days is so much easier with sparkling water, naturally mineralized or not, really helps. I also take dry form apply cider vinegar caps. No hunger even after 2 days fasting. I usually like to keep fasting at 2 or 3 days max every few weeks.

I tried keto again recently and I couldn't stay on it. I was having pretty bad gastrointestinal distress. It got so bad that the last couple of days I was barely eating. The only thing that would help relax my stomach was if I ate just a big bowl of berries.

I'm almost never hungry and I also almost never crave anything any more, however whenever time seems to be standing still, it seems like the only thing that helps to fast-forward the endlessly long day, night, or commute is snacking. Even if the snacks I eat during those time-drags actually technically taste good, I don't really thoroughly enjoy them. Bored eating is the bane of my existence.

You should try downloading impulse, it’s just an app that helps you challenge yourself and work on memory, and attention span. They try to make you buy a subscription but you don’t have to, they have a bunch of games and levels to keep you from being bored until it’s time to actually eat I like to drink lemon water with sea salt while I play so I stay fully focused. Just a small tip not for everyone but who knows

I'm a 27 year chronic binge eater. like 10k calories of candy and donuts a day for 2 weeks binge eater. the only things i've ever found to help: -good sleep -exercise as much as possible -cold showers -emphasize eating as much lean protein with every meal as you can. Try to shove down as much chicken breast, or steak, or lamb or whatever as you can fit in your gulliver. You're not going to put on weight eating lean meat, and lean meat is extremely satiating. Hard to eat a lot of junk food after dinner if dinner was 1.5 lbs of sirloin.

I have been doing Intermittent fasting for a while now and it helped me for quite some time, but over time, as it became a normal, some time later, I actually started to struggle with it. The fasting made me start overeating, because I'm not hungry at the morning or at night, but I just don't feel satisfied while or after eating in between my window. And then I eat so much while I'm allowed to and feel uncomfortable. So I can for sure say, it. f. does help for a lot of things but it made my Appetite and hunger grow, rather than shrink
@tammyandrews8293 Жыл бұрын
Switch up your fasting window. Like for instance, if your eating window is 8 hours-switch it to 6 for awhile. Your body has grown used to your routine, so switch it up from time to time. 😁 maybe even throw in a 24 hour fast once in awhile. Drink lots of water, green tea, and add a teaspoon or tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar to your water a couple times a day. This all helps!
@smiletv1618 Жыл бұрын

@@smiletv1618 that was just an example. You could bump it to a 4 hour eating window. The key is to switch things up so your body doesn't get accustomed to it. Just trying to help. 😊

@@smiletv1618 I usually do OMAD, but there are days I feel like I'm starving, so I listen to my body and eat twice, which slows my progress a bit. Lol I generally try not to eat anything past 7 pm tho because I have trouble sleeping as it is. This is all trial and error for all of us, so I feel that supporting each other on this journey is key! Good luck to us all! 😁❤️

I was all ready to feel proud of myself, but i often eat salads that are excessively large and I end up not digesting it all, causing stomach\colon discomfort. It used to be a half gallon of ice cream in a sitting though so i guess its still progress.

I use this strategy occasionally if I'm eating out of control without an end in sight: I go ahead and fill up a small plate with whatever food I want, then I stand in front of a big mirror in another room (NOT in the kitchen) and watch myself eat that last plate of food. Then I brush my teeth with toothpaste, use mouthwash and start chewing a piece of gum. This seems to reboot the system and makes what seems to be unconscious eating into conscious eating by watching me eat in front of myself in the mirror. I've been on Healthy Keto with intermittent fasting for 6 months, but occasionally, I can fall into this old habit, and this strategy works for me. As Dr. Berg said in this video, it also helps to determine and visualize before a meal what and how much I'm going to eat and also have an exit strategy.

So all over the world, regardless of culture, we've heard of the people starving statement to make us eat. I am still trying to combat that and not to feel guilty if food is on my plate and I have to throw it away. My overeating is not going to help children in a country miles away get food, I have to do more than that to help. Still trying to recover today.

The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said 14 centuries ago, "Your stomach is divided into three parts, one is for food, one is for water, and part three is for air, and fasting one month per year is obligatory, and fasting two days IN the week is recommended. (Monday and Thursday), now that is beauty of Islam although we don't do something for it good for us or it is scientific rather(ALLAH and his MESSENGER say saw), a true Muslim didn't drink alcohol and didn't eat big, that is that tradition of muslims for over 14 CENTURIES.

I am watching all of your videos and I desperately want to kick carbs. I went to the grocery store and saw a beautiful display of Little Debbie cakes all nicely stacked and so many choices. As I looked at her sweet face, it changed. I saw your face, Dr. Berg. I heard you whisper, " She's the devil. Run!" And I pushed through that moment of weakness. I love all carbs. I have so many health issues on each side of my family, and I don't want any of them. I am 55, and I am not on any prescription meds, thankfully, but I do fear that I will become diabetic if this madness doesn't stop. I have gotten better, but when nighttime comes, I struggle. That is when I want Cereal or waffles with peanut butter. GOD HELP ME!!

I take: Vitamin C; Vitamin D3; omega-3; Zinc Chelated; Magnesium Citrate; B100 and a Multivitamin. Can I take them all at once? On empty stomach? After food? Morning or Night? Thank you. Keep up the great work. I have had great success fasting and shared you message and videos to many people.

Occasionally I fall off the carnivore wagon for a few days, and plough through bags of crisps, chocolate bars, pizza, bread, potatoes, rice, biscuits, etc, etc. The next few days is a huge reminder why I gave up that crap. I break out in acne, my arthritis starts to come back, my mood hits really bad depths, and the time spent in the toilet becomes very unpleasant! After getting back on the carnivore diet ALL these symptoms disappear within a week or two!
