I am also a big guacamole fan, but instead of using tortilla or corn chips (due to high carbs and generally being bad for you), I use thick slices of cucumbers to eat my guac (at least 1/4" or thicker). I've taken my cucumber chips and guacamole to parties, and they are always a hit. I never leave the party with any cucumber slices or guacamole for that matter. :)

I like to dip with cucumbers. Small pickling cucumbers are crunchy & juicy, the skin isn't too thick (so you don't have to peel them), & they're pint-sized for easy grab & dip action. The feeling in your tummy after you eat the combination of the 2 says it all. I feel energized & full of life!

I love avocado, I love this video, and I love all your advice! I don’t know if this has been mentioned already, but always save the pit and insert it into the middle of your guacamole before storing in the refrigerator to keep it bright and green. Then the pit can be removed when serving.

As a Mexican, this is why I try to eat ‘basic’ Mexican foods because they are relatively healthy- avocados, tomatoes, lime, beans, cactus (nopalitos), zucchini, pumpkin/squash, chiles. The Hispanic population used to have such good health stats they called it "The Hispanic Anomaly". It 's gone and now the group has double the diabetes (along with blacks) of whites, Asians have the lowest of all and Native Americans a disaster with the worst rates of diabetes in the world (except for the tiny cluster of super-rich oil sheikhdoms where nobody has to do any labor). It's from eating processed foods instead of what their ancestors ate. Incredibly, as with blacks, as the family incomes went up, their health got worse. They were healthier when they were poorer! @@Wiseman5257 Walmart does sell them for less. Somewhere between $1-2 per avocado unless there's a random sale. For me, specifically, I live a 30 minute drive to and from Walmart. 60 minutes round trip. We only go there once per month and I do buy items such as avocados. But they don't keep, so I can't load up. It's the supermarkets that are the culprits, especially in the last year. Price gougers.

Onion and tomato fresh pickle : slice 1 small purple or red onion and 2 tomatoes into thin rings. Add a generous amount of sea salt and mix well. Cover for 30 minutes. (Onion will "cook" in the salt - no strong smell of taste) Mix half cup of water and 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp of monk fruit sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pour over onion and tomato. Press little garlic and add it to your fresh pickle. Put into fridge for 30 minutes. Serve with your dinner. Cucumber can be also used instead of tomato. These fresh pickles are very popular in Hungary and super healthy. Some people add dill or parsley, some people also add a tbsp of sour cream. All variations are delicious!

Guacamole salad! Mine is onion, tomato, garlic, jalapeno pepper diced, cilantro, sea salt and I have to have Cumin in my guacamole salad as well as chili powder. I prefer mine chunky so I slice it in cubes length by width while it's still in its half shell then scoop the little cubes out with a spoon. Stir it up and add lettuce at the end and then stir a bit more but not alot. The salt makes the avocado soften up and kinda thins it out when stirred

Avocados are one of my staple foods, used in many ways. Recently started making guacamole more. My favorite is having it on my "Teff-whiches", which is the tradidional Ethiopian flatbread made with fermented Teff flour. I add greens to this, including cilantro, my own seed micro-greens, sometimes an over egg, sometimes raw goat cheese, sometimes sliced turkey. In season I add whatever wild edibles are growing around here, now there's lots of Checkweed. Dandelion leaves and flowers are a favorite too. Endless creative possibilities. Hold the raw onion though; instant reflux for me, which no matter what I do, won't cease.

Oh yes, an avocado video-awesome Dr. Berg! Last year I even wrote my own avocado Q&A post for my website! This may sound crazy, but I love calling avocados super-food jewels. Why? 1. Because I learned how they’re not only rich & creamy, but packed with disease-zapping phytochemicals and monounsaturated healthy fats. Avocado’s such an amazing food! 2. And I’ve gotta be honest-the more I learned about the jawdropping health perks of avocado, the more my eyes rounded. I couldn’t help but wonder how something this delectable could be so doggone great for us! 3. Oh-one of the biggest shockers I learned about these creamy treasures-they’re bursting with both soluble and insoluble fibers. It’s wild how this dreamy treat is a top source of fiber-I guess since avocados are so silky smooth, I never thought about grouping them in the “help keep my colon clean PLEASE” fiber club. Thank you so much for this waay cool video!!
