Hey. Vielen Dank! Ja, da war auf jeden Fall viel Glück dabei. Das mit dem rötlichen Alpenglühen wollte ich unbedingt mit der Drohne einfangen. Zum Glück hat das geklappt. Leider wurde nun über dem gesamten Alpstein ein Drohnenverbot verhängt. Ich kann dir eine Übernachtung auf dem Schäfler nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist wirklich ein sehr spektakulär den Sonnenuntergang und -aufgang zu erleben.

Hi! My husband and I stood here for our honeymoon one evening, and it was SO worth it! We’re from the US, but everyone that worked here still spoke very much English and we’re kind and helpful. The drinks, dinner and stay for us both only came out to like $170 or something like that. So worth it and beautiful

Hii. Yes, the guesthouse up on Schäfler is very much worth to go! The food is very good, their Rösti are sooo yummie. The prices are decent 40.- CHF for one night. Please visit during September! Best time for nice sunsets.

Sama2. Alpstein adalah tempat sangat indah di Switzerland timur. Juga ada banyak budaya tradisionel, kerena orang Appenzell masih preserve banyak culture dan rituals. Juga bisa tonton baigamana demokrasi tradisionel works bila lihat orang2 vote with raising their hands :) For sure, Alpstein adalah sangat bagus untuk lihat matahari setting dengan gunung2 warna-warni (kuning, oren dan merah)

I love your channel and really love alpine sunsets and sunrises, which are much harder to capture than those along the ocean. You have a beautiful country to work with, and you manage to find places of great interest, not covered by others. That hut at 49 ChF is a great deal, as is 35vChF for the tram! What is the elevation of Schafler, as I do not see any snow, unlikexother parts of the Alps that are snow-covered year round? Thanks for sharing this neautiful hike opportunuty! Thanks for the great video. In the same spot on Ebenalp May 2018 I watched in horror the infamous Cowboy Pilots of the popular JU52 flying illegally low through a cloud of paragliders towards Meglisalp before only just managing the precarious U-turn in such an old plane which could never have ascended over the heights of the Rotsteinpass from that starting point. The very same JU52 that sadly crashed a few months later. No bloody wonder!

This is a beautiful video! I am coming to Switzerland in three weeks and I would love to hike here. is it a long hike from the Mountain House to the best viewing point? Unfortunately, I have a bad leg from an army parachute accident that happened years ago. I would love to see this view, but I have to consider how difficult the hike to the location is... my mind says DO IT... lol, but I also have to listen to my broken body :) Any information is appreciated! Hi. Thanks a lot! The guesthouse can be booked online or by calling them. Schaefler.ch - they have electricity but no shower. Their water is little and thus only for washing face, hands and drinking

Hi Cheyenne. The only "luggage" that you can bring there in any practical way would be a backpack. Carrying any suitcases on this trail is going to be very inconvenient

Might be due to August being peak season. In September 2020 i paid 40 CHF. Or due to high demand they have increased to 100 CHF. Bear in mind we had barely any rain which could cause a lot of trouble to the guest house and thus having to charge more as they cant get any water if there is no rain.

Haha. Its not that bad! Especially hiking up to Schäfler from Ebenalp is really fine, but I agree continuing to Säntis from Schäfler is not advised in that case. Going from Ebenalp to Aescher and the Seealpsee is fine too🤗
