- Drac X had a lot of good music. I was partial to "Picture of a Ghost Ship" and "Cemetery." - Shadowrun's music was so good thematically. - Big Baby Bowser... holy intimidation, Batman! Love this theme! - Pokey/Porky Means Business is metal \m/ - Best track of R-Type III, right here. It rocks out. :-D - Sparkster is pretty fun. And this track is good, even if it sounds like an 80s pop song at times. ;-p Some games I haven't seen you post from yet that I think have good music: Mega Man X2/3, ActRaiser 2 (even though the play control is clunky as all hell, the music is fan-flipping-tastic), Super Valis IV, Super R-Type, Tales of Phantasia, Illusion of Gaia, Brain Lord, Cybernator, Front Mission, Front Mission: Gun Hazard, Hagane, The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse, Star Ocean, Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, Live a Live, Spawn, and UN Squadron. Would also include Out Of This World, but the music is more like a film score in that game and is hard to discern individual tracks.

I know the Culex fight in Super Mario RPG is taken from the Final Fantasy series, but is the "Culex Battle" theme anywhere else in the FF series? It sounds like a part of FFV or something, but I can't place it.

I loved/hated that game. I actually beat it. Took forever but did it. Racked up a hefty phone bill calling Nintendo Power Hotline too trying to find all those eggs. Also found out that a certain door in the ship if you enter it the wrong way would get you stuck and you would have to start all over again. Agree with the music though....it's pretty damn relaxing.

Technically he did here. The Super Mario RPG track here at 22:36 is the music that plays when you fight the secret boss Culex, who is an homage to the Final Fantasy series. And for his theme, they gave him the boss battle music from FFIV (II).

Goof Troop? But why? I mean, the gameplay was fair, but the music? That's up there with "The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle" or "Bubsy"... not even "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" level of music.
