Primer is used to prepare the face. You can use the best foundation in the world, if it is going on an oil slick of a face, the foundation isn't going to look as good as it could. Primer makes a huge difference, so why not use it?

I've used a lot of primers and it's very difficult for me to find one that doesn't break me out. However, my moisturizer is amazing and doesnt break me out and my foundation looks flawless on top of it. So, you don't NEED primer.

OMG! I’m so glad you reviewed this foundation. I live in the Florida heat and humidity too, but even though I have very very dry skin, I also have hyperhidrosis so I sweat profusely. And I have pretty much sworn off everything Soap & Glory because of the scent they use giving me headaches. So I’m glad to hear this is unscented and checks all the boxes this Florida girl needs.

I'm 48 and just recently started exfoliating and moisturizing, in doing so I found out my skin is really on the drier side, but because of fine lines and a couple wrinkles I don't want really dewy foundation. I wonder if it's still kind of moisturizing.

Yup I wanna get it now. A really good combo I’ve been using has been the lightest shade in the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation mixed with the It Bye Bye Foundation. I mixed them because the L’Oreal is a little too light but the second shade is super yellow toned. But these two mixed together is excellent. I’m an oily beast and I work long shifts and I ain’t mad at how it looks at the end of the day !! Great review Zabrena !

Would be worth checking out her channel if you want to see what it looks like on dry skin. I'm not, by any means, running out to buy it but still! My holy grail foundation, also thataylaas recommendation, is the rimmel red top lasting finish foundation. It's flawless on my super dry skin and bonus because I don't need to set it with a powder!

I am so glad you did this review on Soap & Glory. In the winter time I have dry skin but summer time I work outside & my face becomes a humid sweaty mess. Last summer every foundation I used just melted off my face so I didn't wear any the remainder of the summer and I would like to find something I can wear this summer.

It's great for everyday wear, like if your going to work or not doing anything blood pumping. It is a scented foundation, and I think it's great for all skin types and light to medium coverage. It looks great on you! This foundation and the CYO foundation are both made by Boots. They have the same ingredients as the with the exception of talc and mica being reversed in the ingredients. The CYO foundation is half the price of the Soap and Glory foundation.

It’s a real fun combo😭😂 because of the rosacea I have to wear an spf under my makeup. Can you do a video on how to choose a foundation shade? I know the tricks about looking at your veins (and even that is difficult to tell), and swatching shades on the neck, and natural lighting, but I still feel the struggle with it. I really don't know my undertone. Foundation matching is definitely the hardest for me.

Kristy Kelly this is my problem! I would say I’m more light than fair, but definitely neutral, and that’s just REALLY hard to match. I blend down my neck and do the best I can, but it still sucks. I can’t imagine how hard it is for the deeper skin toned ladies!

Swatch at the jawline. Go to Sephora and have them shade match you on a popular foundations brands name that’s really descriptive in regards to depth and undertone (like MAC). Make note of the shade/product name and get a few samples while you’re at it. Use a website that helps you match foundation colors thru different brands and enter the ones you were matched on already. Temptalia has that on her website. You can use that for reference when choosing out new foundations

I just tried this foundation. I am 49 and live in hot and humid Florida. The first time I tried it I used a beauty blender and it looked terrible! In fact I put it back in the Walgreens bag to return it. It got blotchy and the more I tried to smooth it out the worse it got; I did use a primer. The next day I decided to try again using a foundation brush (from ELF) and WOW! That was the difference maker. It went on SO much better and my skin looks beautiful. I took it up under my eyes and found it was enough to camouflage my slight discoloration. I've been wearing it all day and keep checking my face and so far so good. I do have some fine lines and "texture" under my eyes and pores on my cheeks near my nose and so far everything looks good. I do tend toward combo/oily and the temps outside are in the low 90s so I expect some "glow" on my face. Good product! I will continue to use.

Glad it worked for you. I have combo skin and it looked horrible. Settled into pores I didn't know I had, clung to dry patches I didn't know I had either and separated around my nose and chin and looked cackey. But that also happens with Double Wear.

Just wanted to tell you...tried the S&G Kick Butt foundation in 01 Fair and love it! Used about 1.5 pumps for wonderful coverage! Used the Pixi Glitter Quad in Gold & Rose Gold on my eyes and the Too Faced Rose stick hiliter on my lips for a soft rose gold color! Yes, you can use it on your lips!...I've used it on my lips for months for that lovely rose gold/peach shimmer without the "gloss goop"! Also used the Too faced Natural Lust bronzer for a subtle hint of bronze! Love the way it all turned out! A beautiful gold & rose gold look!

For a Frugal Friday, you should try a full face of makeup from the brand Kleancolor. They have really cheap makeup (their foundations are less than $3) but I’ve been wondering if anything from them is any good. I’ve only tried their Madly Matte Lip Glosses and they are pretty good.
