My favorite eyeshadow hack: if your purple shadow is pulling too pink, put a light blue shadow on first & then layer the purple. Also works when green shadow pulls too yellow, the light blue under it makes it a “truer” green.

One of my best hacks for dry skin is to invest $30 in a humidifier. Sleep with it on every night and not only will you breathe better, my skin noticeably became more comfortable and now I can’t travel anywhere without packing my humidifier!! Anyone who uses hyaluronic acid in their PM routine should do this to ensure water is being drawn from the air into the skin, not out from deeper layers of the skin 💕💧

I use this one! I got it from CVS over a year ago and it still works great. Definitely buy yourself some bleach for a weekly soak, and a bottle brush for deep scrubbing the nooks and crannies. I've been putting Nyx proof it eyeshadow primer under my concealer for a while now. But recently I was getting ready to do my eyebrows and I didn't want a gel, or a pomade or a stick. I wanted a very soft natural look on this particular day. So I ended up putting NYX proof it on my eyebrows and working it in and then letting it dry and applying some taupe eyeshadow since I am blonde. It gave me a very soft extremely natural eyebrow, but it had the staying power of a more substantial product. just be sure to brush your eyebrows back into place before the primer dries lol.

I love the idea of using a cotton round to pad your powder products. I always layer some folder tissues on top of my powders when I travel. Plus everything gets bagged in reusable ziplock bags to catch any fall out. For liquid foundations in glass bottles I always repackage them in plastic vaccum pump liquid bottles from Daiso. The bottles are 1 fluid ounce so it fits most foundations. Bonus is that there is no air introduced to the product so it extends the shelf life and is also good for foundations that come without pumps.

Yes face primer is great for under the eyes. Idk why more people don't try it! If you look at the directions for the Tatcha primer it says for under the eye too! I see so many people use foundation and concealer under the eye when you really should just do primer and concealer you don't bring the foundation all the way up so it's not too much product and won't cake up!
@jstu84 жыл бұрын
I thought that too. Most ppl’s under eyes are dryer, so you use a face primer underneath, and most lids are normal to oily so you’d use an eyeshadow primer on lid only🤷🏻♀️ Otherwise, a shadow primer under eye on dryer skin would look so textured.

Hack!! When my favourite pressed powder gets to the point where there's only powder around the edges and it starts breaking away, I dump it into a SMALL Tupperware type container with lid. It needs to be big enough for you to dip your brush into, but still small. I put the lid on, and then give it a good shake to break up the powder, and now I have a loose powder that I'm able to use up completely. This works with all types of powders.

The cotton pads work for any palette/powder makeup... you just put multiples side by side. As a bonus, the part that wasn't shadow side down (still clean) can be used as a way to wipe off your brushes between shadows. No more clumps! I save tissue paper (like mostly the black paper that comes in the Sephora packages lol) cut it into smaller pieces and keep it near where I store my mascara. I use it to wipe excess mascara from wands before application, which allows me to layer in very thin coats, resulting in no clumps. Tissue paper has no lint to get all over the wand. Depending on the mascara, I like to take most, sometimes almost all the product off, especially for the first coat. It does waste product, but I have to toss the tube after 3 to 6 months for hygiene anyway, and I personally never run out before then. This works great on those mascaras that start out super wet.

Jackie Aina sets her primer and moisturizer with a lose setting powder first, with a spray after that before foundation. Its a technique for oily skin, meant to create a barrier between the skin itself and foundation and powders so that way it keeps the skins oils from breaking down the makeup.

I'm really shocked that you didn't know about this one about the 5 steps in which you really should apply your facial products and makeup, and in what specific order, and I agree 100%! Because I've been doing it this way for years now. It's amazing how natural, yet flawless it keeps my makeup looking!!!🥰 I love the way it looks/stays on your face, and how it literally manages to stay put!! It did take a little while to get used to, because I was so used to always applying my powder very last! But now, I've finally grown accustomed to applying my translucent powder right after moisturizer. Not right after applying my foundation, like I had normally been used to. It really is one of the most useful beauty hacks that I have ever heard of and have used for years! And to think I was skeptical at first when I initially read the article about the truth, in regards to the correct way to apply your makeup flawlessly, while also making it easily to last all day on your face!💕 So to sum everything up, the order I apply my face products are as followed: 1. Moisturizer 2. Translucent Powder 3. Setting Spray 4. Primer 5. Concealer/Foundation (optional) 6. ALL FINISHED!!!🥰

Love you videos and your creativity with your topic choices. Thank you. When washing my face, I never fail to end up with water dripping down to my wrists. I once heard a suggestion of putting a scrunchie around each wrist to prevent the water from dripping further down your arm.

I need to try that scrunchie trick!

Okay, so I tried the reverse makeup tip using the setting powder and spray over the moisturizer before applying the foundation and THIS REALLY WORKS!!! My makeup looked beautiful and stayed put all day even after a walk on the oceanfront in 90* weather with a 99* heat index. I was skeptical, but it really works. I have tried this twice and gotten the same beautiful results. For the record, I am 58 with dry skin. Just be careful and apply the moisturizer evenly as the first time I did this, I used a thick cream and after I applied the powder I could see where the moisturizer wasn't even and had to fix that before continuing.

OMG! Thank you for using a hack I suggested! I’m blown away. I love you so much!🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️ Love all these hacks especially the squall el one. Going to try!🤗🤗🤗

I add skwalene to my face at night and a really good dose of moisturizer. The first helps pull the moisture from the later into the skin.

i need you to do a video on how to keep your makeup on while wearing a mask. i know it isn't going to stay on perfectly, but it would be nice if we could get it for some time!

i’ve been using that cotton pad trick for years! not only for traveling but for regular use bc i’m super clumsy and drop/break my powders pretty frequently. i learned it from my grandmother who actually uses these cotton pads to apply face powders!

I have really, really dry under eyes, and make sure to apply eye cream and the Elf Hydrating primer under my eyes. Its the only thing that keeps the concealer from scaling against the skin.

And do you have a recommendation for lid primer? I have really dry lids too. Nobody seems to ever talk about that.
@lynnthomas84574 жыл бұрын
@@goynplaycs I've been using the TrueSkin eye cream. You can get it on Amazon for about $15, and it's amazing. I use it twice a day on my undereyes, and evening only for eyelids. For dry eyelids, I'd put the cream on twice a day, and then a primer on top. I'm using the Milani eyeshadow primer, since its nice and tacky.

I save and sanitize my mascara wants and use which one works best for me at the time. Sometimes you just find an amazing wand that fits your lashes perfectly! I'm thinking of trying the new liquid metal wand so I can waste less plastic but we'll see!

I have that same squalane oil and it’s great to use as a moisturizer on its own without being greasy.

If you get mascara on your eyelids let it dry then use a spoolie to scrape it off! Works like a charm!

A great mascara tip I heard and regularly use, is to twist the mascara wand on the back of your hand (or a mixing palette) to remove most of the excess product and then apply. I’ve found for new wet mascaras or ones that have a lot of product on the wand this makes them usable from start to finish! :)

The tip with moisturizer, powder, setting spray, then foundation makes total sense now that I’m hearing about it. It’s like you’re locking the moisture in, instead of using dehydrating products to fight oily skin. It made you look flawless, mannequin flawless!

The hack that you mentioned about applying your makeup backward, like the setting powder before foundation, Wayne Goss actually is the one who started doing this years ago. It is a GREAT hack for us oily gals. I believe Jackie Ania does it too. But this hack has blown up on TikTok recently. It truly is a great hack. Oh, yea I was just watching Marlena (from Makeup Geek) talk about this the other day on her video too. I enjoy watching videos like these to learn other hacks. Thank you so much for sharing

Wow. thank you for trying my tip. You are 100% right, technique does influence the wear of concealer. I use the hack you pointed out from Allure Magazine for sure. For the primer I use I tend to use my eyeshadow primer - but have also used Elf's poreless face primer with great results. I do have naturally baggy under eyes so concealer tends to crease no matter what. The others are amazing and on my list of to be tried. Thank you for posting the video, it's appreciated and the highlight of my day.

Hack for washing your face: put scrunchies on your wrists to keep the water from running down to your elbows. I tried the moisturizer setting spray hack & I looked like a light beige mud puddle had thrown up on my face. I have used Baby Oil to take off my mascara for over 20 years now. Always works with reg. or waterproof & doesn't break off my lashes like other cleansers have done. I don't wear falsies as my eyelashes are fairly thick & long. Love your eye look in this vid please do it for us!!

Omg I love the squalene and concealer tip. I have so many concealers that are just a bit too dark to use under my eyes but would be a perfect skin match and now I know what to do with them!

I am a fan of squalene oil. It is a dry oil so I use it under the eyes to keep my make up from being dry looking.

My favorite hack is saving me from taking to long removing my eye makeup take a cotton round and put vasline on it a then press and then I let it sit on my eye for a minute and removes my eye makeup without much trouble
@jennifergould13694 жыл бұрын
You can do this with cotton rounds and the water I cant ever say right. Micellure water? I do exactly the same but no pressure and jut let it soak for a minute. I couldn't do the vasilene because I hate the consistency! But the micellure water works great too!

I use baby oil. Its cheap and works like a charm! I've noticed a change in my eyelash health since doing this also. Then I follow it with a salycilic face wash.

I do the same with grapeseed oil. It works beautifully without having to rub my eyes too much!

@@jennifergould1369 *micellar. :-) Sort of like how something having circles is circular, the water is micellar because it has micelles [the "soapy" droplets in the water that catch the dirt/oil].

What imaginative information! I love watching your videos and not only are they educational, they are entertaining! What a beautiful lady, yes you are! Keep up the good work! I must admit, I usually purchased my make up from fine department stores or Sephora and Ulta in recent years. I had not purchased drugstore brands like Milani, LA Colors or NYK, and E.L.F. until I saw all of the tutorials you post(ed). You have definitely revived my interests in these brands I might have otherwise passed on! Thank you for that!

Great hacks! I’m definitely going to try the reverse order one-I need to use powder but it often looks to dry when it’s on top-even if it’s only a small amount. With my translucent powder, to avoid getting too much through the sifter top, I put tape over a portion of the holes. Much less mess and waste😊

One of my fave hacks for liquid lipsticks (especially ABH liquid lipsticks, they're beautiful but they're really drying n sometimes crumble off or ball up if you rub your lips together)instead of using lip balm or vaseline to moisturise your lips, use lip gloss, finish doing makeup on the rest of my face and then wipe off the excess with tissue and then finally put a liquid lipstick on, I find the lip gloss to give it a nice tacky base
