I think choppers are very elegant. It’s almost like a dance

What I've noticed is that if you want to actually know the answer for 90% of the players that arent pros, you don't *really* need pips to play chopping style. especially if you already have a lot of experience playing inverted rubber, switching to just chopping with inverted is actually a lot easier than most people think, if you get some basic practice with it. i think especially in chopping the equipment makes up much less of your skill than when it comes to attacking, to the point where you can get extremely cheap equipment without noticing that much of a problem. I've even tried chopping with battle 2, and that worked much better than i couldve ever expected. in general, an upside of chopping style is probably that you dont have to care that much about getting an amazing racket. to point out, im not at all a professional. but when i played in my team, i was often considered one of the attackers within it, but decided to switch to chopping, and within less than a week, i was already playing basically the same points against people, and now im sticking with it, because it just feels so much more fun than attacking.

Interesting~ However, I believe you would change your mind once you have played against more skilled amateur players.

Hi, I use blade yasaka defense, Backhand SpinLord Dornenglanz OX, forehand Donic-bluestorm-z3, but I don't think this is a best combination for me
@blueheart9873 Жыл бұрын
Dornenglanz is good for blocking close to the table because it has a lot of reversal (low friction = return a lot of spin with passive shots), but it is hard to chop with. Dornenglanz is probably better on OFF or OFF+ blades. If you want to chop far from table choose something like Butterfly Feint Long III. The pips are soft and bent easily so you can create backspin while having high control. And sponges are more common if you want more control or if you want to attack more
@blueheart9873 Жыл бұрын
Bluestorm should be very allround with a defensive blade. If you want more power get a slightly faster blade or if you want better chops use a tacky rubber like DHS Hurricane 3 or Butterfly Dignics09C/Yasaka Rakza Z

I’m not sure anyone will see this question, but I was considering using Butterfly Tackiness Chop on my backhand. But I was considering using Tackiness Chop 2 or Tackiness Chop Drive for my forehand for a defense oriented play. But what I read usually is most players use a long or even short pip rubber on the forehand for choppers. I play mostly defensive with heavy loops and chops but will get into a few rallies without playing totally chop type of defense. My question is, would rubbers I’ve mentioned be good for the style I said I play? Or should I go with a pips out rubber on my forehand? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks for reading my book…😂

Hello! I would like some advice for my equipment. Is my current equipment suitable for my playstyle, or could you recommend something that suits me better? I am a natural attacking player, and am a forehand dominant player. I usually play right behind the table, and I am considered to have a knack for spinning. My forehand topspins are really spinny, so I use them most of the time, but I have a decent backhand. However, I just started playing table tennis last year in July, and only started receiving proper training 2 months ago. I use a Butterfly Maze Performance Medium Fast blade, paired with Donic Acuda s3 for my backhand and donic bluefire m2 for my forehand. Any help would be much appreciated!

I use Dr Neubauer Firewall plus for blade, MX-D FH and spectre ox from des meterializer ( german brand ). I chop off the table easily than with sponge. I used to use CWX blade with joola tango and CWX extraordinary. 9 but i found out I'm better chopping with ox

Coach Thich, It depends on the type of chopper. A semi offensive players like Panagiotis Gionis or Ruwen Filus would use a vastly different blade and rubber than some one like old Evgenii Chtentine . I would prefer a combo blade if a decent one could be made. I used an old giant Dragon Kris fast balsa forehand with Tenergy, and very slow limba wood on the backhand with 1.3 Feint long 3. Too bad it has thick as a tennis raquet, s much so I nicknamed it, "fat bitch!" lol

What is the advantage of having long pips for chopping compared to short pips? And what is the difference in technique? With short pip chopping you can create more spin by yourself plus they are probably also easier for attack. So why choose long pimples?
@wayzooted Жыл бұрын
LP is more forgiving for chop. SP requires better timing, arm speed and also ability to read the spin. LP is easier to chop against players that produce quality topspin... SP's will cause more balls to pop up and can be attacked if your SP technique isn't on par. SP's are great when your opponent doesn't produce spin.
