The Hudson Valley is one of our favorite places. Absolutely beautiful the whole length of it. The Hudson Valley is immense, too. You’ll only see a piece of it if you go for a week. Oh, and don’t forget all the historic places to visit.

Sarah, I loved the video. Actually, I live in the Hudson Valley (Cold Spring) and have been to many of the places you highlighted with my husband. Our little village is flooded on the weekends with visitors who arrive by boat, car or train so we would head North to the villages you mentioned. You should think about Cold Spring for a video as it offers hiking, canoeing, historical sites, antique shops, restaurants, and many more adventures. We are about 1 hr 15 minutes from Grand Central. Bella is getting so big. Thanks for sharing your videos.

Sarah I've been in Tarrytown which is in the Hudson Valley for a cousin's wedding in late 2005. My favorite place in Upstate NY is Cooperstown ,NY . The home of the Baseball Hall of Fame. The area is beautiful . This also includes Oneonta.

@@susanmurphy7869 Politely disagree. Orange County isn't very much of a place for interesting things except that Sarah didn't highlight Storm King Art Center near Middletown. It's a museum of outdoor artwork surrounded by a vast forest and mountains. Other than that, it has a few cool wineries/vineyards. NYC folks would love to visit all these places!

Used to work in the Hudson Valley commuting from Manhattan. Now bouncing back and forth between the city as a dual resident of both places. Region is separated by lower, middle, and upper. Saratoga Springs is in the Upper Hudson Valley but it is better known as the Capital District/Region which is officially Upstate NY. I once stepped into Ole Savannah in Kingston but I didn't eat there.

The Village of Haverstraw is literally a town of Hispanic restaurants everywhere. Take the train from Grand Central Terminal to Ossining and then take the ferry to cross the other side that takes you to the widest area of the Hudson River with breathtaking views arriving at the harbor of Haverstraw.

Just visited charming Cold Spring yesterday from taking a Seastreak ferry fall foliage tour and this village is truly cute and charming! Great video, Sarah. And Terrapin is a great place to eat. But to be sure, Rhinebeck isn't "in the Catskills". Dutchess County is rife with farms and vineyards, and is wedged between the Hudson River and the Berkshire Mountains.

Yes, NYC is not part of the Hudson valley. So many people make that mistake. The HudsonValleyy is the towns and villages that start in Yonkers and go up to Albany NY. It actually borders NYC (the Bronx) so saying it less than 2 hours away is quite an exaggeration.

Just came back from visiting NYC for an entire week (my first time). Honestly, I feel as if the city is overhyped. Times Square was pretty lame is just a street with billboards and annoying people. I’ll have to visit again in the next year. (If it matters where I’m from: Fort Lauderdale, FL born, raised, and still live in FL) The streets are differently congested. And no matter where I went in Manhattan, there’s always unfinished construction somewhere. Definitely experienced weird smells, outside of Central Park is horrendous on 59 St (tons of poop everywhere especially by the horses). Saw trash on the street, however, did not encounter a rat which I’m thankful for. New Yorkers definitely take brunch seriously, on the weekends you would barely see anyone outside before 10am and everyone is outside by 6pm.

That’s because you didn’t know what to do or where to look. Nyc is amazing. Ft isn’t a big city, been there and didn’t really do anything except for spring training. You need to look at what you want to do in ny before you go and when. Then decide if it’s great or not.

@@tatyanna408 I guess. I just don’t think a week is actually long enough to see nyc. I mean macys old wooden style escalator is something of itself. Christmas time is also majorly different. But I still haven’t gotten to see qpark yet lol

Every New Yorker knows that Times Square is the worst! If you were only in midtown you are bound to hate it. I'm from the NYC suburbs, but I actually live in Fort Lauderdale now. We definitely have the best beaches down here, but I miss the excitement of the city! There is always something going on in NYC whether its art, live music, events in the park, etc. Definitely impossible to compare FTL to NYC, but each have it's pros and cons.

@@abellink I’m not a New Yorker, I’m a Floridian 😂 But I said I’ll visit again to visit the other boroughs. I just wanted to get Midtown out of way to see the hype and I was with children. (It was the only way to get my sister to go with us to NY to help foot the bill 😭).
