Absolutely love this cutter. Have had it few years now, and has never let me down. Didn’t even know about the storage area. Lol, thx. Could you do some tests on the best hole saw cutters and also bits for glass tile. I always make room for plug and switch plate finish cover screws, which have to be very precise cuts. Recently an electrician told me not to worry about those screws anymore because they can cut them down to not hit the tile. Now that’s great I thought, but only if the electrician is coming back to do this work, which he did not. There is not a lot of play on top and bottom set plate screws, especially when they are very tiny glass tiles, they tend to crack or chip. Give it some thought because I think a lot of pros would appreciate the knowledge. 30 years in the flooring business and we all can continue to evolve in this trade. Thanks to your videos. Cheers. Kept watching your videos while I was writing this, was supposed to be in the Montolit file.

I have used a Sigma but I own a Montolit and must say that the Sigma you have to lift the handle almost like pushing backwards and pull at the same time. Just a little uncomfortable, until you get used to it. When I first started to use the Montolit I found it awkward to cut in the pushing direction... But let me tell you , it is simpler to use because with little pressure you push forward and down in a very comfortable position. That is the biggest difference otherwise the single pole that some think is superior, well the Montolit has the same single pole construction ...

Hey Landberg I was wondering how you went with cutting tiles dot to dot? I cut straight to the wall and some plastered walls are out which forces me to mark out straight cuts. I've just bought a montolit 63p3 thanks to videos like this one. It arrives in 2 days time. The best cutter I've ever used for subway tile is the Rubi ts30. It's the only Rubi cutter that I actually like, but it's amazing on subway tile, I can't imagine a cutter any better for the job, you need to try one for yourself to see. I've used the bigger ones a lot too, ts50 and ts60, but I found that they're hopeless on porcelain, they're just not rigid enough nor have the breaking strength to break them.

Sigma design is international patent and many companies especially in italy have tried to better there concept but failed miserably, including montolit, nice looking machine,! Hummmm. The edges look a little jagged to me. Every tiler I've ever used has had trouble getting a smooth edge and it's no small issue (from a homeowners perspective). The jagged edges show even more once the grout is applied because the grout seeps into the crevices. This is especially true for porcelain subway tiles. How is it they are so smooth out of the box (do the Chinese have a giant smoothing machine they run all the tiles through before tiles are boxed and sent here?) It's a pure wonder to look at a simple bullnose tile and marvel at the smoothness.
