Hi, great vid thank you :D When in Timelaspe photo I cannot change the settings for image quality or size - the format seems to be almost square when I want the 1080 landscape style. Can this be done or are we all stuck with the square-ish size? Cheers!
@AirPhotography7 жыл бұрын
+Motoeuro when you do time lapse photo it takes a very high resolution image series. When you assemble the time lapse in go pro studio it will automatically crop it down to 16 x 9 white screen and because of the high resolution there is no quality loss

Can u set the time u want to do the time lapse? Like setting it before u go to bed and then it turns off after its done?
@AirPhotography7 жыл бұрын
+MrPicoSun Far as I know I know that is not an option. For myself I film time lapses during the day for about an hour to an hour and a half. Doing an overnight night lapse I just let it record overnight to get nice movement of the stars you should let it record for 6 to 8 hours Then just turn it off in the morning

As always, very informative video. Thank you for putting the time in and sharing your experiences and knowledge with us. I really appreciate it. :) I've mainly used TimeLapse Video because I'm unsure how to edit the pics when using TimeLapse Photo. What I mean is, how do you edit multiple pics ......say, the sky....at the same time so one they are more or less the same? I have only used Quik and GoPro Studio (still learning on how to use this). Thanks again :)
@AirPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+takeme2urmac to batch edit I use LRtime lapse which integrates with light room. It is super easy and has powerful editing tools. I'm going to make a tutorial on that soon. The only downfall is it comes with a hefty price tag. But I do believe they have a trial version

Is there a quality difference between a time lapse (video mod) and a time lapse (photos mod) ? Because I'm editing my gopro footage in 4k (adobe premiere) and my photo time lapses are really ugly in comparion with the video time lapse!
@AirPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+Benoît Rosset usually I would say it's usually the other way around but generally they both do a similar job and they usually both turn out really good. I'm glad they turned out great for you what settings are using in video mode…

@AirPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+Nicole Beukel Nielsen yes the hero 4 and hero 5 are similar in its capabilities when capturing time lapses. The menu settings are the same they are just laid out differently you'll just have to look for them in your menu when in time lapse mode

What if I made a three hour video but wanted it about 10 min long 1080p at 30. What time would I set it on approx.?
@GregorStevenson5 жыл бұрын
Brad Darnell you should get calculator out. you want a 10 minute long film, 30 fps so 30 * 60 * 10 = 18000 pictures. divide that by 3 = 6000 pictures per hour equals 100 pictures per minute so your interval between shoots would be 0.6 of a second. the closest normal interval is 1/2 second so I would shoot at that and trim the final footage to end up with as close as you can get to the final duration

Let me explain it :)- when you open ( right side of the screen) PR you have all of these options that you describe in video- but when you skip more to the right you have 2nd and 3rd screen and this was my question - how it should be done with WDR and raw format.

@AirPhotography8 жыл бұрын

@jaytapia29628 жыл бұрын
Ok when filming time lapse you press record to start the video and/or photo shoot and leave it for an hour?? Does the battery last?
@AirPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+Jay Tapia The battery generally is long enough to capture a time lapse I have recordedfor over an hour and a half and never had a problem. Yes once you are on time lapse photo mode or video mode just click the record button and it will do all the work until you stop recording. If you did it in video mode the time lapse will be complete and waiting for you on your memory card, if you did it in photo mode you will need to import the image sequence and compile them and go pro studio or a similar editing suite

Hey, been watching your gopro timelapse videos and they have been a great help (realised i was on another account before tho) just wondering if youve come across this problem before? ..basically i tried my 1st timelapse yesterday, loaded it up in gopro studio and it all worked fine but noticed how dull the images were, so loaded them up in lightroom and edited them all, exported them as high quality jpeg, loaded them up in gopro studio again and it was really juddery then i converted the video and in the edit stage it was just a BLACK video.none of my images were there at all? any ideas? great videos btw, have learnt alot from you
