I bought my 2013 STI about 3 years ago, it came with these tires, size 245/40/18, I think I will stick with these... One of the main reasons for me buying the Subie is to be able to go to Tahoe in the snow without needing chains... and I barely got 30k out of mine though

I think this tire will be a great option for my Veloster N since running a summer and a winter isn’t really practical for me.. the only other tires I would consider are the dws 06 plus and the Goodyear exhilarate, but I think Michelin has the edge.

Don't choose the DWS06 unless you are only using one tire and the car will se temps below 35*F and white stuff. Otherwise, mich ps-a/s4 or general as05. Or look for something quiter.

I am a former 2016 owner. I ran a set of winter and summer tires. Now i am looking at getting a wrx again and am torn between all season and all terrain tires. I would love to hear your feedback if you got to drive these in snow. I get a lot of it here and either AT or AS will be an improvement in snow over summers, but depending on the tread design, there are goot AT options that have better sidewalls for winter but stiffer rubber for summer...what an impossible comparrison lol.

That’s interesting because I haven’t heard of too many people running all terrain on these… do you mean something like a Crossclimate2? If so, I mean I guess it would work but you’re losing out on a lot of dry handling, steering feel, and overall athleticism. My opinion is that if you’re going to run a winter set, run a real winter set. The AS4’s do fine in my area that gets very little snow, but good enough in a pinch to get you home. Crossclimates or other AT’s are really for lazy people that want a tire in their commuter Camry that will get by year round

@@novaGRCircuit Actually got the idea from a BRZ owner who ran AT through a Michigan winter. Said they did amazing year round and it got the gears turning lol.

They’ll do fine all year round, but for something like a Wrx I prefer running dedicated summer/winter setups

@@novaGRCircuit I dont blame you. The only issue is, if you buy rims, you either have to settle for summers on the stock set or buy 2 new sets due to side differences. At the end of the day you can buy just the rubber, but thats $100 minimum twice a year for a job that takes 20 bolts and 20 minutes if you have them all set up and balanced. Was hoping to hear they did way better than expected but I suppose I expected to hear that 2 sets is the superior way to go. thanks man.

I’m in the same situation with my GR Corolla. I’m trying to burn through the stock rubber as fast as possible

Actually ......the Conti DWS 06 Plus and Pilot 4S AS are pretty much neck and neck on dry pavement testing according to several, and I do mean, several Tire Rack tests. For day to day spirited and hard driving, the difference is in milimeters, not feet. Both do really well with Pilot's being a bit louder and driving just a bit more harsh on uneven pavement.

Yea you can’t go wrong with either

@novaGRCircuit Indeed. Both are great. I've owned Michelins for years. To replace the Dunlop Spiort Maxx 600A on my 2023, I'm considering these are the newer Falken fk460.

I love my Michelin’s, best tires I’ve had.

How do the 265 tires drive compared to the 245? More noise? More tramlining/following road imperfections? Any rubbing (what was the wheel offset)? More/less initial turn in feel? More steering effort?
@novaGRCircuit3 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say because I went from a 245/35/19 summer tire to a 265/35/18 All season tire. So it’s not apples to apples. But, what I noticed is that steering directness was a hair better on OEM Yokohama tires (summer tire and narrower), but overall the handling characteristics are better on the Michelin 265’s. Definitely more tramlining since it’s not OEM wheel and tire size Slight rubbing when too low so I had to raise the ride height on a 38 offset

Why did you go with 18”, instead of oem? What’s your view on cold air intake without tune?
@novaGRCircuit3 жыл бұрын
I wanted a wider wheel but also one that would fit once the coilovers go on. I don’t think 19’s would fit with the coils unless they’re the OEM wheels

How’s the road noise from these tires on the highway?

Hard to tell because of my exhaust but they’re on the nosier side
