What's your favorite piece of travel gear you've found recently? Would love to get some recommendations going for everyone. Also, apologies for the lack of video frequency lately! I've had a client video project taking up most of my time the past few weeks, regular weekly uploads should be resuming in October!

For a clean look if you have a beard. Not a recent one but I have used the Wahl micro groomsman pen trimmer for over 8 years and its great for a quick trim

For me it’s a shower item. In most toiletry bags there is a mesh pocket that you can hang on a shower rod. I find this super handy for keeping dry soaps and shampoos from sitting in a puddle of water. The pocket itself takes up little to no space and have now given away the main bag, only keeping the pocket.

Love the tom bihn travel tray. Underrated how nice it is to have a "portable night stand dump area" that you can then cinch up and take with you. I use mine to hold charger accessories so I can charge my stuff overnight, then just cinch it up when it's time to go to the next area.

My Jabra Elite Active 75T’s wireless earbuds. These little nuggets of musical joy have a wonderful sound profile (customizable) and fit great. The added ANC is really good. I’ve sold off my over the ear headphones and other earbuds and I’m solely using these. I use these solely on the plane now. They are small and compact in their case which is great for traveling.

I love that slings have become popular, it’s like men finally figured out purses are so useful!! Lol great tips!
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
I know! Love being able to carry a sling without getting any weird looks. Now the designers need to make deeper pockets for women’s clothes and we’ll all be having a much better time 😂

I'm a lady, but my aesthetic tastes are ... androgynous. I HAVE a purse to use when a sling is not appropriate but fortunately that's not very often, for me! 😄 I have used slings since 2016; now that they're popular, there are many styles but I'm still rocking my Yens sport sling weekly, holding up 👍.

Flight attendant here- these are great recommendations. I highly suggest the phone holder and Matador soap bag! I’ve been using these items for a while. I minimize liquids and Matador soap bag does a great job drying the soap and not leaving it a gooey mess. I’m also a big ExOfficio user (started from my backpacking days and now integrated in my one bag travel kit). Bonus: there’s a new(ish) ExOfficio retail store in SeaTac airport. Great review!
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
Same situation with me for the exofficios! For them for backpacking and ended up using them for travel as well. I saw that store during my last SeaTac layover, it’s neat to see a brick and mortar presence for them. Glad to hear a proper travel pro approves of the list though, thanks for sharing your experience with everyone!

I’ve had 3 pairs of exofficio boxers for 3 years and they are barely showing any wear and tear. I recently bought more to replace a few pairs I lost. Well worth the price; super comfortable, dry quicker than ‘normal’ boxers and great for working out and running. The nitecore power bank and a couple of matador products are on my shopping list now. Great video and a quick overviews of genuinely decent products. Thanks!! 👍🏻✌🏻

Josh, great video. One of my tips for travel is to pack an inflatable camp cushion in your carry on. I use a Thermarest. Makes long hours of sitting tolerable.
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
Great idea! I’ve used my inflatable backpacking pillow for my head before but never considered the seat cushion. Thanks for sharing!

For the phone prop: I carry a nitize quicktie that I can fashion into a phone stand. It also works for hanging from the airplane tray hook for hands free viewing.
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great option too, thanks for sharing!

What is a nitize quicktie? Sorry for my ignorance. Perhaps it's known by another name where I come from?
@enriquediaz75473 жыл бұрын
@@shumathievandayar3246 ah.. yeah.. I’m corrected: its is the “Nite Ize GearTie” It’s just a flexible strip of material. Think of a copper-like material wire. In fact.. a simple 12-14 gauge piece of copper wire would work too.

I've been using and really liking the Matador Pocket Blanket. Folds up super small and fits easily in a sling, hip pack or small backpack. Great when you find yourself at the beach or a park

I second the Matador Pocket Blanket. Really good for travel and well made.

I have one, and it’s neat for its size factor. Haven’t had a chance to really use it though. Personally I like taking a bubble-wrap shipping envelope. Makes a handy pad to sit on, can use it to pad electronic during transit, weighs nothing, and odds are you’ll get one for free when you buy something on Amazon.

Apologies for the sparse videos lately! I mentioned this in my pinned comment but I had a client project dramatically change due to covid restrictions and left me a bit overburdened the past few weeks. Should be getting back to a more regular schedule next month, really looking forward to that as well!

Greta video Josh. at the moment my favourite travel gear are my Soundpeats TrueAir2 earbuds. for under $50 they have a good sound quality and I won't feel bad if I lose them, like I did my AirPods. Have you ever done a video of tips on the Aeropress? I'm ordering one and would like to get some advise from a coffee maven.
@joshfenn3 жыл бұрын
I’ll keep those earbuds in mind, thanks for sharing! I actually made a video showing my aero press iced coffee recipe last year, but I’d highly recommend you check out James Hoffman’s channel for some good brewing recommendations. He did a multi-part series a while back on the aeropress and it was amazing, tons of good info and he’s far more knowledgeable than me when it comes to coffee 🙂

Merino for underwear doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, because that’s a piece of clothing that needs to be washed after use and washed often
@joshfenn Жыл бұрын
Exofficio makes some really great synthetics if you’re wanting something more focused for single wear and quick washing/drying, I’ve been using those a bit more over the merino boxer briefs lately.

Leaving the Matador case with your favourite scented soap in your travel bag (even when storing) will keep it and all of the contents smelling good. No need for dryer sheets or cedar chips.

@blakew56723 жыл бұрын
They’re pricey for what they are, but can also confirm they work. I felt bad spending $12 on a soap bag until I used it. Now I have two. Matador goods tend to be a bit expensive (for what they are) but all their stuff is functional and forward thinking.
