Powered by a 649cc parallel twin derived from the Ninja 650, the Vulcan S has been retuned for more low-end to mid-range torque, making it perfect for both city riding and longer trips. With 61 horsepower on tap, it's got enough punch to get you through traffic with purpose.
One of the standout features of the Vulcan S is the Ergofit system, which allows you to adjust the bars, foot pegs, and seat to suit your size and riding style before leaving the showroom. It also boasts a low seat height of just 705mm, making it easy to reach the ground, especially for learner riders.
Handling is light and nimble thanks to the telescopic front fork, while the offset rear mono-shock with adjustable preload ensures a comfortable ride. The positive neutral finder is another great feature, particularly for new riders.
Available in both learner-approved and full-power versions, as well as a cafe variant, the Vulcan S comes in a range of colors and has plenty of accessories to choose from. Pugs puts it through its paces on his daily commute and a longer cruise through the Blue Mountains, and the Vulcan S handles it all with ease.
At just $12,090 AUD ride away, the 2024 Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 is a serious contender in the cruiser market and is sure to be a popular choice among riders of all skill levels.

I am far from a beginner, I'am seenty years old and have been riding since 1964. I've owned mant motorcycles since then, mistly Japanese models and four Harleys. I just sold the last Harley I will ever own. I paid $37000 for is ans it broke down four ties within the first year. I think the Kawasaki Vulcan S is a great motorcycle for any age and any rider, a newbie, experienced, or a seasoned rider like myself. I would buy one today, but my wife is fighting me on the idea of owning another motorcycle at my age. We will see who wins this battle. If I win I will have a Kawaski Vulcan S in the garage very soon. Wish me luck. Ride safely and enjoy every journey.

@@nikosioannou1533 Well, I did go with a Kawasaki, but I bought a new 2024 ELiminator for $1800 less than the Vulcan S and it comes with a passenger seat and pegs. I'm loving it. It has plenty of power and corners great.

As a fellow Aussie i wish i found your channel sooner! I bought the Vulcan S 2024 edition as a learner in their 30s. I'm picking it up in September and I can't wait. I'm gonna show your review to all my mates who wanna get into biking and that I'm trying to convince that the Vulcan is the bike for them. Keep up the awesome work mate.

...and slightly the other way...first time bike license after I turned 60 and first bike just before turning 62! And it was a 2019 Vulcan 650...absolutely love it as both my daily commute - when not raining! - but have also done a trip from the 'Gong to Griffith and back for a weekend away! Was great on the highway - even without a windscreen! Love it, and happy to ride it till I can't...Thanks for a great review on the 2024 model.

Great review! 55 years young here.... I've had many bikes including three VMax's and last one being a Harley over 4 years ago. Been lookin at getting back to it and had narrowed it down to the Vulcan Custom and the the Vulcan S cafe. Love the Indian Scout but too much $$ for the amount of times Ill get out. The 650 is going to be more than enough bike for the ridding I plan on doing and it looks amazing in my opinion.

Great review on a fantastic bike for all riders new and old. I have had the exact same bike and colour now for a few weeks and it's incredible to ride for a veteran rider as I can imagine a new one would enjoy as well.

I've just put a deposit down on one, going for my Learners at the end of the month (SA). I've spent the last couple of months watching every and any video I can, and being a bigger bloke (width and height haha), I definitely came to the conclusion the Vulcan S was the go. I've sat on a Rebel and it felt a bit cramped, when I sat on the Vulcan, it felt... right. Like it was made for me.

4:08 - You look like you had a substantial lean angle on that roundabout with more clearance to spare. I don't think I've seen any other rider lean it over that far. Did you have a special set up for the pegs?

It’s ridiculous that the Ergofit costs an extra $650 on top of the price for extended reach. And then what will I do with a brand new standard seat? Also the extended passenger seat is $200 more than a standard passenger seat. Why? It’s smaller. Kawasaki really needs to reconsider this and make the Ergofit system free when you drive out of the showroom.

Id be a bigger fan of the ergofit system if it didn't cost so much. I wish it was like some dealers in america where they fit it to you for free. Love the bike though.

Test rode one of these and have been riding for 60 years. They advertise this bike for beginners. Not true at all. Throttle is to touchy. And way to much power for beginners!

My first bike, and have never had an issue with the power...you should be able to manage it as soon as you get to know your bike, and even in the early days it isnt sports-bike like power, so nowhere near as dangerous as some others for newbies...IMO...
@jeremylopez2101
@jeremylopez2101 2 ай бұрын
Throttle is touchy because the power delivery is of a sports bike, not a typical cruiser. I wouldn't really recommend it for beginners either, I grew from a 250cc. Now that I've had the Vulcan for a couple weeks it feels normal, even slow.
