Thanks for this useful overview although in all honesty the only way you can know if they are the "best" gravel bikes in the price range is by riding 'em. Maybe you have, in which case I apologise. The bar end shifters on the Haanjo are much simpler than brifters but still not fixable on the trail. The advantage is that most bar ends can be turned to friction shifting (but not the new Durace, sadly) if you bend a rear mech and/or hanger, which should get you to the nearest bike shop.

The drivetrain is not the issue. Beware of crap wheels. I bought a n×rco thrshold. Broken spoke after 5 rides.

Niner makes some excellent bikes but they seem a bit overpriced. Over 2 grand for a Tiagra spec seems a bit much. I often see bikes with 105, GRX-600, Rival or at the very least Apex 1 at that price point. So what do you get in return for taking on the lower level Tiagra, there must be a trade-off somewhere? And I hope to God it at least doesn't come with mechanical disc brakes.

Hmmm. No Rocky Mountain Solo 30 or 50 in this lineup. I’ve been watching a lot of reviews on gravel bikes and the Solo is never mentioned - what gives? It seams like a very cable bike to me but is everything else that much better??
