Nice views. Another good place to visit and view is Dennis Hill State Park and Haystack Mountain State Park in Norfolk,Ct. Dennis Hill has some spectacular views and you can drive all the way up to the top where there is a old stone house that you can rent for events. Haystack Mountain has a trail that leads up to the tower there where you have to climb some stairs inside it but well worth it for the 360 degree views it has.

Giuffrida Park is a good hike up to Chauncey Peak. You should hurry up and do it. The quarry on the other side of the mountain is about to take the whole peak down for trap rock. They've made it clear they are going to do this despite huge opposition. A couple sticks of dynamite and that beautiful ledge at the top will be gone forever.

Wow, somebody did a lot of work on that trail to build all those steps.

I love the fact that from Meriden's Hanging Hills, you can see New Haven harbor and Long Island Sound to the south and Mt. Tom in Holyoke, Mass. to the north!

I've hiked and ridden my bike up to Castle Craig, but wasn't aware of this . Will definitely check it out next time I'm in the area.

Yeah it’s on the other side of town, I have a castle Craig hike on here as well, but this has to definitely be the best in the area. Watch out though I heard in FB that there was a nest of copper heads near the start of the trail recently

i been there, you can see the ocean one way , the Berkshire mountains in mass the other way, not to many places in ct to see from one end to other

Weird this showed up on my recommended page. My husband was born in Meridian and we’ve been talking about going to visit. To see where he was born and lived for the first few years of his life. This is beautiful!

I grew up there and I didn’t even know it existed. It’s definitely the most beautiful place in town

I'm surprised more people don't know about hiking in Meriden. Some of the best views in New England!

Best hikes in Meriden? I'd say Mt. Higby on the east side and the trails above Merrimere Reservoir in Hubbard Park and South Mountain.

I have a video of Higby MT on the channel too! I love it there, I grew up in meriden, but I would definitely say this hike has such a great view and a nice variety of views and terrain while also being just as quick as the others.
