Hello, glad to know you enjoyed your trip to Singapore! Just a small fun fact on the "flower shaped" building I saw on 5:14 of the video. It is our Art Science Museum and it is lotus shaped. If I can recall, it is designed to be the "welcoming hand of Singapore" and due to its unique design, rainwater can be collected in the middle (similar to that of a lotus flower) from the roof and fill the pond underneath it, at ground level, and excess water can be even recycled within the building for use within the building's bathrooms. At 5 min 06, the stadium is Marina Bay Floating Platform. It hosts our annual National Day parade (9th August) for 4 out of 5 years. On every 5th year since independence, NDP is hosted in the Padang, a different location. I believe its one of the largest floating platforms ever built at its time as well. Hope this info helps future trippers to Sg! Fellow Singaporean.

The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore, depicted as a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish. Being of prominent symbolic nature to Singapore and Singaporeans in general, it is widely used to represent both the city-state and its people in sports teams, advertising, branding, tourism and as a national personification. The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name-Singapura-meaning "lion city" or "kota singa".

The stadium that you saw is the NS Square. It is the place where the sg soldiers conduct its basic military passing out parade. Also, it is the location for most of Singapore National Day parade.

It's also use for our National Service Army passing out parade venue. Those recruits passing out and will have to do a road march of abt 24 kms to that venue if I'm not wrong..and for the National Day Parade events.

The hotel décor was inspired by the Peranakan culture that is a big part of Katong's history. The Peranakan Museum in Singapore is an excellent place to learn more about the Peranakans, a hybrid of Malay and Chinese culture.

Indigo hotel looks amazing! Will def recommend my overseas friends to stay there next time. The Merlion is a symbol that was created by our National Tourism board many years ago as a mascot for Singapore. As a Singaporean I never paid much notice to it, it’s more of a tourist thing. It amuses me that it’s the first thing all of my Japanese colleagues request to see when they come to Singapore. Great videos and I hope you enjoy Singapore!!

If you love to shop, you should visit Orchard road or Bugis! Adventure cove is a fun swimming park (Explore it during the weekdays) and you can head down to SEA aquarium or trickeye museum. Those attractions are really nearby one another. And for food, you can try out chili crab, sambal stingray, frog leg porridge and durian! Hope you hit up some of the recommendations! Enjoy your stay!

Merlion is a symbol in singapore, it's like Sarimanok here in Philippines, Eagle in America.. The Merlion was shrink into 3x, the first one was way bigger but always gut struck by lightning so they reduce it to 3x it size. One problem in Singapore is you never predict if it will rain or not, sometimes the entire day it always rain there but if not I love to ride bike and cycling all the way from senkang to coney island, my brother lives there at Achorvale so it was a cycling heaven
